Personal Submarine for the Super-Rich Fri Oct 24, 9:48 AM ET LONDON (Reuters) - It is the must-have toy for the person who has everything -- including $845,000 to spare. Forget the yacht, mansion and private jet. This is Gemini, the family submarine described by inventor Robert Leeds as the world's first underwater sports car. But with a top speed of just five knots and its ability to stand still, tilt, rise and fall it is much more like a sub-sea helicopter than a high-performance adrenaline-inducer. "Under the ocean is the last unexplored place on earth and certainly the last place where there are no personal vehicles," Leeds told Reuters Thursday as his bright yellow invention went on show at London's Science Museum. The submarine, which in commercial production will take three people in cramped bucket seats to depths of 50 yards for up to three days at a time, is designed mainly as a plaything for the rich |

no pics?
me and my buddy were drinking 1 day and tryin to figure out what it would take for us to build one of these after a 12 pack we decided to just leave the sub idea alone and move back to the 3 wheeled 4 wheeler (not a big hit as you never heard of it) it would suck to drown =] |

Yeah I could get used to traveling like this. Though if it came with torpedos it would be cooler! |
Plus there is no motion to get sick over 200 ft down :-))

I also hear you can buy submarines from Columbia, with way much more storage space than this though. Cheaper too! ;)
