SEPTEMBER 4--While we normally don't concern ourselves with speeding arrests, we're making an exception in the case of one Dr. William Faenza. The 35-year-old New York City man was arrested Sunday after Pennsylvania cops clocked his 1997 Lamborghini Diablo going a remarkable 182 mph on State Road 443 (a 55 mph zone). |
Damn. That's crazy.
I got busted going 35 mph over the speed limit two weeks ago but the kind officer reduced it to just 9 mph. Gave me a hellova lecture though. |
Stupid fuck! DWI @ 182mph....

Heh. It's a real head-scratcher to me too. Seemed like a pretty laid back officer, probably typical for Brevard County, Florida. Early in the AM about sunrise. Maybe because there was little traffic and I have a clean driving record. Only ended up with a 79 in a 70. :okthumb: |
180+ is fast enough, but doing that drunk. <_< Nutso!
|
182mph is FUCKING INSANE.... but at least he's not one of those guys that buy toys and don't play with 'em.... B)

heh, the last ticket I got was about 12 years ago. I was driving to work at about 6 AM and it was pitch black dark out. I was on a rural residential road that probably has about 50 cars a day go on it. Next thing I know I've got flashing lights behind me. The cop did the standard do you know why I pulled you over routine. He says you went through a stop sign and I clocked you doing 55 mph in a 25 mph zone. Needless to say I was shitting my pants because doubling the speed limit in PA is an automatic liscense suspension for like 6 months. He went and checked me out and made me sweat for like 15 minutes and then cited me for "disobediance to a traffic device" which isn't considered a moving violation and means it doesn't affect your insurance. He dropped the speeding altoghether and gave me about a 10 minute lecture on speeding instead. I was never so happy to get a ticket in my life. The guy cut me a huge break. :)
