The Circuit Court for Howard County, Maryland, Ordered, Adjudged and Decreed that the said Katie G be and she is hereby divorced absolutely from Vick G

Granted joint legal custody of Minor Child Sebastian G was decreed

actually it's a very amiable split, we both still reside in the same house

Seasons must change, separate paths, separate ways

Well, I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad, so I'll just say I'm glad it's working out in whatever way you want it to work out! :)

Opti 08-21-2003 02:25 PM

I think you haven't lived until you have your own set of divorce papers!

Congrats Vick... ;-)

PornoDoggy 08-21-2003 02:43 PM

This is always a congrats and condolences situation - glad things are amicable.

If you go to Atlanta, Vegas, Miami, or New Orleans....dont tell the girls that....they won't believe you because they have already fallen for that line once before :zoinks:

Snoops 08-21-2003 08:20 PM

dunno what to say.....definitely sad that it didn't work out - I'm a hopeless romantic at heart I guess :o(

But, glad it's amicable and of course wish both of you all the love and happiness possible.

BTW - how are you vick? Haven't talked to ya in ages.

big hugs hon :o)

Extreme John 08-21-2003 08:40 PM

Congrats Vick, although it's tough in this situation at least now you can move forward instead of being held back by someone that wasnt doing it for you.

Lisa 08-21-2003 08:51 PM

Well having tried both kinds of divorce (the amicable, and the unbelievably bitter, twisted and acrimonious), I'm very, very glad for both of you that this is of the amicable variety.

Sad as divorce is, sometimes it CAN be a positive thing for both parties...and even the children sometimes. :)

ulfie 08-21-2003 09:53 PM

Vick, give me a call any time. You know the number. Got some new stuff cookin' that might interest you.

Steelers and Ravens in 2 weeks. :)

sweetmellissa 08-21-2003 11:18 PM

well I have you all beat (gonzo), and I say congrats!!!
we need more good guys on the open market !!! :rokk:

Vick 08-22-2003 08:46 AM

Much Thanks to everyone

It's been as good and positive as possible so far, I play superdad and really enjoy it (we're going to Disney World again in December)

Ulfie - Sorry I have misplaced the number, please give me a call when you can. I'll be in today until about 3ish

Hey Snoops - always good to hear from ya. You're right it's been to long. All is as well as can be expected. Sebastian is doing great

Again thanks to everyone. It's really bittersweet, we still function as a unit when parenting is concerned (Kate kept my last name so her and Sebastian have the same last name) but we both can move ahead with our own personal lives now

I'm very lucky to have an incredibly cute 25 month old son who climbs into my bed every morning to play hop on pop

confucy 08-22-2003 07:24 PM

Vick, whether it's a divorce free from anger or not, it's still a divorce. I'm sorry to hear there was no other acceptable alternative like counseling, a temporary split, etc. Your board personality has seemed the same, so you really fooled me. You have a wonderful son out of this union, so it wasn't all bad. You have lots of friends at Oprano and around the internet who will be wishing you well.

Thanks C - Actually I have changed a little, a little more cynical or maybe my BS tolerance is down somewhat

Sometimes we say we got unmarried as we don't care for the word divorce (and the accompaning stench of failure)

Sweet T - hmmmm I can't use that line in those cities, guess I'm ok here in Baltimore, (or am I?) DC, Philly and New York

Maryland Renaissance Festival starts today, one of my favorite places to go. Great Eating, Drinking and Shopping (plus lots of women in corsets and bodices

voodooman 08-23-2003 08:26 PM

Vick,

Sorry to hear this, but glad your are working through it.

Welcome to the club.

kath 08-23-2003 11:18 PM

I agree - sorry to hear it, but happy for you because it sounds like you are making the best of it for your son... I think that's wonderful.

Kudos to you both for being such awesome parents! :okthumb:

And... Snoops! Great to see you here! So sorry I only got to say hello for 2 minutes @ Internext... was hoping we'd get another chance to chat. Hey - there's always another Phoenix next year. It was great getting to really talk with you after all these years... :D
