"WOW"

http://money.cnn.com/2003/06/26/pf/a...cuda/index.htm

"bpj", i had to take a double take on that car in the article. It looked sorta familiar.

Forest, you should see some of the other cars that "bpj" has restored.

He sure knows his game when it comes to collectable cars, that's for sure.

Mike AI 07-03-2003 12:12 PM

The Hemi Cuda is one bad ass car.... I doubt I will ever own one since the prices have gone through the roof. But it is on my list.

My Shelby GT500 KR gets a lot of attention, she is about to get a brand new paint job in a month or so.

I would have to say my cars have probably been a better investment then most of the stocks I have bought! Much cooler too! :D

bpj 07-03-2003 12:19 PM

Thanks bummer! I'm going to see you at the Mopar Nat's this year...... right??? :)

Mike, I think there's more room to appreciate too! :awinky:

Speaking of hemi's.... i STOLE this one about 9 months ago! :D
http://www.moparsonline.com/71hemirt.html
It's an original paint, un-restored car!

Buff 07-03-2003 12:26 PM

That is a cool looking car

bummer 07-03-2003 12:37 PM

Yep, "bpj".

we'll be at the "Mopar Nats"!!!

i don't think that pam would let me get out of it that easy.:awinky:

she really enjoyed checking out all the old muscle cars. Plus, she really liked seeing the top-fuel funny car (hemi-powered) flying down the track. A nitro-burner just does something for women!!!
:awinky:

Hell Puppy 07-03-2003 11:49 PM

Love the cars, but the ones in the mid-high 6 figures and beyond scare me. If I own it, I wont be able to resist driving it. And that's like walking down the street with a few hundred grand in your pocket. I'd be afraid to park it out of sight. And if there was an accident, I might end up in jail for stomping a mudhole in someone's ass...

Nah, as long as I am invited to dinner too!!!

That and I must warn you, I do not have a turkish coffee pot, so you need to bring your own.

Interestingly enough, this year at Barrett Jackson, American muscle cars pulled way more money relative to their projected block prices than Euro exotics did.

The star of the show didn't even make reserve, hell it didn't even make a million bid at the auction, though it was sold later for a million one. It was one of 16 ever built, 57 Jag xk-ss roadsters, and the first one in 10 years to hit the market...

The muscles did much better, this wasn't the final bid on the Nash Bridges car, I think it ended up at about 140k but it was neat to watch it on the block. A 70 Superboss Lawman, the only surviving one of two made, stole the show when they fired up the 1200 hp engine during a Pininfarina sale...

http://banner1.spotbrokers.com/pics/bj/DSC00241.jpg

Eleanor was also for sale, for those of you who know Gone in 60 Seconds... and Carroll Shelby also celebrated his birthday at the show --

I'm just glad to see the trend in new performance cars turning back toward more cylinders and horsepower instead of 4 bangers and turbos.

The kids today love the rice. But I'm sorry, a high strung turbo with a coffee can exhaust, ridiculous rear wing and butt ugly graphics that sounds like a chili fart when it passes by doesn't do it for me.

I like a V8 (or better) rumble and that good low end torque that really throws you back in the seat as soon as you step on the gas.

It aint got muscle if it can't pull a wheelstand :yowsa:

No doubt!
Horsepower wars are back...
The '05 BMW M5 is going to be a naturally aspirated V10 @ 500 hp! :rokk:

wig 07-07-2003 10:21 AM

My F-350 with the new 6.0 Powerstroke (with mods) produces 450 horepower and 650 foot pounds of torque! :yowsa:
