Out of hundreds of webmasters, many will end up on either side. What people tend to forget about is all the negative email and IM traffic going on too.

Everyone has their point of view. I don't even know anything about the situation and so I sure as hell am not going to comment on it. Everyone takes careful note of how people react in these situations and bringing personal things into business will, in my opinion, not help you.

I don't know how you think this is a net benefit for you when you are already losing potential business deals because of it. I dont understand why you say "there are only 3 people I know and need to do business with" when it is quite clear that you are trying to do business with more.

I'm a firm believer that some bridges should be burned, to prevent others from following you to try to trip you later along the road ... there are certain bridges that I know are more harmful standing, others i enjoy watching crumble to the ground in a pile of bricks and dust, and most importantly, those which I regularly maintain & repair, replacing lost bolts and giving it a fresh coat of paint once in a while.
