Yesterday I bought moscito magnet and caught 3 moscitoes overnite..

question:
how much it's gonna cost me per pound of moscitoes?
;-)))

JerryW 06-04-2003 07:08 AM

The mosquitos are brutal this year.

I bought a mosquito deleto yesterday and it worked about as well as yours did.

I've tried candles, foggers, repellers, and expensive systems and the mosqitoes are just too smart :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

Naughty 06-04-2003 07:11 AM

Try this:

Average weight of mosquito = x
Mosquito = y
Price of net = z
One pound = p

Amount of mosquitos: p/(x*y)
Net price per pound mosquito:
z/(p/(x*y))

:yowsa:

I'm sure when Colin gets here we will get some extra variables for the margins in weight :hic:

[edit: typo]

HaHa.

You still have those 3 mosquitos and a finely calibrated scale?

Almighty Colin 06-04-2003 07:19 AM

EVENTUALLY the cost per pound of mosquitos will go to 0 compared to the cost of the "Magnet". :-)

Only have to factor the monthly Octenol cost. ;-)

small pronblem....

3 moscitoes was a GUESTIMATE,
in reality I only have ONE!
;-))

Jerry,
seems like our problem is:
only stupid moscitoes get caught and deleted from the gene pool

My guess would be a good vintage red wine.

They are going to be awful here due to all the rain.

I haven't broken down and gotten any of the fancy killers. I cover myself in the Sportsman Deep Woods Off (30% DEET). And we have bats that nail them - though not as many as I'd like them to nail. :awinky:

Serge,

Based on my results, all the stupid mosquitos are dead. I have a population of genius mosquitos in my back yard. I think they've sabatoged all the mosquito killing devices around here

You should do what most of your other mountain brethren do....

Country folx eat lots and lots of beans to repel "skeeters". The gas keeps not only the mosquitos away, but most humans as well.

You can just sit on the porch, chew your "baccer" and watch the washing machine in the yard rust in peace!

get yourself a couple bats....

I dunno if you can buy trained bats that will stick around your place and not takeflight and disappear...bats are good skeeter getter ridders of........

Serge, just forget the math and do the smart thing like Jim is doing and move back up north to a temperate climate. Having 4 months of snow and ice is a small price to pay for not having mosquitoes, west nile, sars, etc. There are benefits to living in the middle of nowhere. :)
