There was a HS fraternity in Jax when I was growing up that did the same thing. I don't think they used crap, but they DID use pee. This was in a neighborhood of $1mil+ homes - it must have something to do with really rich kids needing to humiliate someone. :awinky:

I don't think so...

When you play sports, drive in a car, walk down the street, and hop in the sack with an aggressive hooker, you risk broken bones and stitches. Who's fault is it that you ended up with broken bones and/or stitches. Yours, the ground, the other people involved, God, Satan, or someone else you can blame other than accepting personal responsiblity?

They knew what they were getting into. They also should accept personal responsibility. I doubt any of them were kidnapped from their peaceful suburban homes and forced to show up. If they were literally dragged there against their will, that is another issue. But, I doubt that was the case.

This is not strange at all to me, I went to high-school near Northbrook and went to many Northbrook parties. I also had friends in Chicago inner city where I went to school freshman, sophomore year.

I can say with certainty that the wealthy kids were always much more prone to getting wasted and trashing the party host house (this happened to me also) just to get extremely violent for no apparent reason. Sometimes this meant completely destroying the house or at least property inside.

Although in the inner city you had gang problems this was turfbased or territory, the majority of the kids did not seem to lean towards violence and savagery as the suburban kids.

It's interesting to note that inner city youth of this age usually had jobs already and understood the value of things, whereas the rich kids, well they were just rich =)

So with this in mind I gotta ask this:

3 days after Christmas I was out at my local bar enjoying the festive season to the max, as I walked home I got jumped by 4 guys and some girl... ended up getting kicked in the head so many times that they've had to operate on me to rebuild the left side of my face along with adding 2 titanium plates...

I've also suffered severe nerve damage that doesn't look like it'll recover.


Was this my fault because I put myself there?

Should I have known that in my usually quiet town this was going to happen?

Both the courts and I think not as one of the guys is being tried for a Section 18 assault (grievous bodily harm with intent)


Those kids did wrong, they took it too far... way too far!
