Just though I'd see if anyone else hated it. :angry:

I'm on a workstation w/dual P3-1Ghz xeons and 2GIGS of RAM and the latest version of IE and flash player .. and it STILL makes my browser bog down to a crawl ... with all the flash banners PLUS this new movie its just too much

on my other machine P4-2.4Ghz w/1Gig of RAM .. its a little bit faster, but I've got a silicon graphics video card in that machine .. and it STILL doesn't move at the full frame rate that is should be..

there's just too much animation going on, I truly feel for those on slower machines

Something on Oprano is messing up my browser. Maybe that.

i love it ... it got my attention more than any banner on here has for months ...

Loved it the first time, I was amused by it the second time... after that, well, it was just darn annoying.

Can't someone set a cookie so we don't have to keep looking at it everywhere we go? I got the message already...

I love the concept.... what I would prefer is a cookie system so a person only has to see it once a day.... to get it eveytime you reload is a pain...

BUT it does get your attention....

Even though its my ad I do like the idea of having a cookie system. I'll see what our flash guy can cook up for that :)

But I must say, Flash overlay ads do get people's attention. We have 40 of them coming out for every niche we cover and they will definitely pull! :)

I thought it was really cool but it does slow things down quite a bit. The cookie idea is good. Or maybe tweak the flash so it loads faster. Every time you reply you have to see it again.

A cookie would be a great idea :D

but I found it just as easy to uninstall my macromedia flash plug in... the board aint half empty up top with out flash... maybe a downside to flash banners...

also had to set my internet options to disable file download prompts, but hey the board run smooth as "Lee Noga's Balls" now :agrin:

The first time was "Wow! Cool Ad ARS! WTG!"
The second time was "Hey, there it is again!"
The third time was "Shit, that's what is causing my browser to crawl like it's 1999!"

Cookie idea sounds good. Personally, I like the Flash overlay ads. Very snazzy!!! :yowsa:

I think the flash ads are cool, but do carry an annoyance factor.

We made a few a year or so ago for Kara's and Lesbian Pink.

Eye Blaster has some great examples of what can be done...

Cool for 2 seconds, already have an ARS account so ANNOYING.

It pops every time I open a open a thread, post a reply, reload or do anything so if makes it kind of difficult to read/participate in the forum. :(

I'm sure it'll have a great pull rate, hopefully not at the expense of your regular readers/posters!
