True story.

In October of last year, a man from Putney, Kentucky said God has persuaded him to close his adult bookstore and burn ten thousand dollars worth of adult merchandise.

He converted the store into a Christian bookstore but sales have been so slow that he was considering closing it. Recently, an Ohio couple read his story of conversion and has just arranged to have $80,000 in Christian merchandise donated to the store.

What will happen next?

He'll still go under. The basic problems cannot be solved by a few dollars worth of free merchandise...

Actually, the same reasons that keep me driving a truck...basically, a lack of marketing acumen. There are plenty of Christians, just as there are plenty of porn surfers. Targeting the right segment of the audience, and getting the message across is the key. Of course, he may also have a problem with location. A location that is good for an adult store is not likely to be good for a Christian merchandise store.

We use to call this the "great purge" when a porn collector suddenly ridden with guilt decides to walk a purtian path.

This is really extreme. If I had a dime for everytime some body threw away their collection, I'd be a wealthy woman.
