JR 03-10-2003 02:29 PM

ok. i was just making myself something to eat.
very hungry, just got home from the gym. need protein.

so.. i heated up a skillet with a dab of oil for some scrambled eggs.

i was getting more and more hungry.

I started cracking open eggs and as i was mixing them around, i realized that one of the yolks was actually a developed embryo with feathers.

i was really hungry.

i did not have anymore eggs or anything else handy.

so i picked the little half cooked chicken out and ate the rest.

was that gross? or bad... or wrong?

my wife freaked out when she saw the little chicken in the garbage and then saw me eating eggs.
:(

Almighty Colin 03-10-2003 02:31 PM

I have it on good notice that this is a true story.

And .. I think it is gross.

i am trying to find it in the garbage now, so i can take pictures of it.

then we can have an oprano poll and decide if i should eat it.

;-)))

T-Rav 03-10-2003 04:01 PM

Hahaha...that is fucking great! I've always wondered if that was even possible. I thought that they always sold unfertilized eggs, but I always keep an eye out for a little tiny chicken.

I must admit, I woulda done the exact same thing. I doubt that it is bad for you. Almost everything is perfectly ok if you cook it long enough.

cj 03-10-2003 06:35 PM

I am divided between LMAO and :barfon:

i probably would have done the same thing, and like you, I also would have had a guilt complex for days afterwards ... and felt nauseous

an egg is a chicken embrio anyway, its just less formed the way we normally eat it ...

*shaking head*

oh man, this is a sad thread

LMAO

Lisa 03-10-2003 06:38 PM

When I was about 12, Dad was cooking bacon and eggs on a Sunday morning when he suddenly yelled and chucked something in the bin. He TOLD us it was a partly formed baby chicken in the egg...

I half suspect he said it just to freak my mother out (he loved doing that)...must ask him if it was for real or not. :barfon:

No, not pickle, but something close. It's called Balut, and I was raised on it as an infant in the Phillipines.

That would explain me being 6 foot tall 250lbs. Lots of protein in those Chicken embryo's yo! :D

CashMaster 03-11-2003 01:03 AM

LMAO!!

:yowsa: Gives a whole new meaning to "The chicken and the egg"....

Greetings to all board memebers :wnw:

Hope to learn a lot from this board :okthumb:

I thought that's what it was called, but I wasn't sure. I had a Phillipino roommate when I was in the Navy, and he used to get care packages from home all the time. There was certainly different stuff in his than my mother sent me. :)

This happened at a friend's house when I was about 10 years old. They threw it away though.
