It all started after Christmas. My girlfriend (MissEve) bought me Grand Theft Auto 3 for Christmas....
It started with just casually watching as the boys played the game. Over the past 2 weeks it's become an addiction that I fear will require a professional intervention. Every time I turn around, she's playing it. She refuses to let me help with the missions. She's hogging the PlayStation and she's starting to lose friends and family over this. Can anyone please help? Does anyone know anyone that could assist us through these troubling times? Thanks in advance, -KC Last edited by KC at Jan 30 2003, 03:33 AM |
KC I will help you with the intervention. Make sure we give specific exampels how she dissapointed us, and how she can get better, let her know we love and support her!
12 Step program.... first step is to admit you have a problem. |
Have you looked inside the tanks on your toilets yet? The reason I ask, is that many alcoholics, once confronted, will hide their alcohol in the tank of the toilet so their family members won't find it. If you find a Grand Theft Auto CD in the toilet tank, I think it's time to call in the professionals!
:P |
KC try giving her romance and she'll drop the game. Fix her dinner with wine and candles, offer a massage, good long foreplay and great orgasms.
I bet it works. |
KC - you can't help her unless she admits she has a problem, she has to seek treatment for herself and not for the sake others
As sad as it will be to see MissEve will have to hit bottom and have her moment of clarity and see she is addicted  |
KC...
First Step is recognition excellent... I tried everything to get KarenFold off the PS2, ended up having to buy another one and put on another tv monitor for other people to play. Of course, the xbox she won in football helped fuel the addiction, but don't EVEN THINK OF trying to play on that! :grrr: |
KC when you find the proper help can you send them over to our place....
Soldier of Fortune is our Poison and were sick I tell ya! Sick! We need help! |
sell the tvs

KC, we all love Esa but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. Grab a baseball bat and start beating her like they do in the game. She will realize the stupidity of it all. Why play a game with that much violence and depravity? She will come to realize that her time is wasted on a game that glorifies hookers, assassins, mobsters, hitmen, and thugs. My wife wanted to play it so I gave her a boot to the head and that made her change her mind.
Sorry, where was I?.. fuck it, off to play more GTA3 :) BTW.. just kidding about the baseball bat. Hope it's not too late! KC? NOOOOOOO! |
Oh my :( I can only imagine the pain you're going through having to watch this.
It's obvious Esa needs personal intervention. From me. In Alaska. When the weather's nice. :) Really! I read this in a several very highly thought of psychological weekly tabloids :okthumb: If you're dead set against flying me to Alaska  , I suggest buying yourself your own PS and GTA3, hooking into hers (which it is now - even if it WAS yours...), and then playing against her in a friendly "Strip GTA3" game. :bjump: |
Racist. n. One addicted to Grand Theft Auto 3.
|
Haha, thanks for the great tips!
We're going to take it one day at a time.. That's all I can ask. :) |
You guys are making too big a deal out of this! Im fine, I can stop anytime, seriously. I mean, Im only having one or two games a day, Im a social player!
I think it might be affecting me though, I was driving around San Francisco the other day during rush hour and I started thinking that I could just drive on the curb and run people over. My Lexus has a shitty turning radius though so I was going to have to jack another car. So what!!?? :nyanya: |

Kevin is good at a couple of those things but cooking is NOT one of them! lol I made him rice crispy treats once and he asked me how long they have to bake! |
Just give her the credit cards, I'm sure she can shop instead of playing and you won't have to work but a few years to pay off the bills.
|
To start, everyone tell KC how his GTA3 abuse has hurt everyone.
Like that time at the craps table, when you had to "go to the bathroom" and i found you two days later, shivering in your hotel room, all cranked up on adrenalin from the GTA rush? Those were dark times... ;) |
wait, is KC the addict or the enabler? I need to break out my Al-Anon manual:)

KC,
It's obvious to me that Esa has been possessed by a demon as evident in the game she has chosen to play. Pure evil where crime and death are the actual pleasures in the game. I suggest stripping her naked and tying her hands to the bedpost and perfoming an exorsism. Chant stuff and toss water in her face every now and then for good effect. The demon in her might start yelling at you (especially about the water in the face part) and plead for you to stop. Be brave - but if her head twists all the way around - RUN - cause she's gonna kill you when her hands are untied! If she doesn't do a "Linda Blair" impersonation - well she is naked and her hands are tied to the bed........ Last edited by Bama at Feb 1 2003, 04:37 PM |

hahaha, That shit is funny.
If you want to get her off that game go buy her another game... :) JMM, I finally got my Canyon Lake house done... Hit me up and we'll get together. I have to show you. It came out awesome! |
give her the cheat codes for stuff like the Rhino (tank) & and all the weapons...ruins the game quickly :)
of course if she already knows how to enter those codes by memory & still continues to play... yikes! you've got alot to overcome! |

I actually put the game away today because the missions are too hard now and since I can't cheat I guess I have to give up, lol Something about Vice City is so addicting, I've never been addicted to a game before. I think its the 80's soundtrack :) |

Miss Eve, good video games are hard to put down. I am lucky I broke my addictions....
The games I prefered are ones you compete against other human competaters which makes it even more addictive - nothing like kicking someones ass, and talking smack to them. of course getting your ass kicked, and getting smack talked to you makes you even more motivated to get better.... Double edge sword! Good luck!! you can call me anytime to hear a friendly voice! :D |
Did someone mention GTA 3?
hmmm Jenna is Candy Suxx in the game and Jay lent his voice to some guy who gets beaten by Liotta |
The "trial" images flashing in your avatar really add to your posts, Meni.
I bought an Xbox two days ago. I'm resisting the addiction... really... Even though I went out and bought a steering wheel with pedals and shifter for my racing games... I am NOT addicted!! And I want the sniper rifle back in Unreal Championship... dammit  Last edited by Carrie at Feb 5 2003, 06:06 AM |
Last night when I walked in, she had her arm tied off with the remote control cord, so she could "find a good vein" for the IV drip she now uses.
She doesn't eat, sleep or drink anymore.. she just plays. Stares motionless at the TV occasioanlly letting out a "Die bastard" or "ooooooo I cut off that guy's head with a chain saw!" She really has a sickness. :( |
