--T |
HAHA Man this is like the old days!!
Good to see you guys here! T - NFC South was best division in NFL in 2002. It will be again in 2003. Tampa is not going anywhere, Atlanta has Vick up and coming, Saints have lots of draft chocies and good offense, Carolina won last 6 of their 8 games... Going to be fun next year! |
Isn't WEG based in LA..so is Jettis, right? Or near LA. So was Silvercash last I heard.
How are you doing grimm? Hey Tony, was so good to see you at the show :) |

Well, Mike.....I just saw the title of this thread and thought to myself: "anyone running an adult company in LA?" thats like asking... "anyone running a drug company in Bogota?" Quote:
No doubt the NFC South is represented well.....next year should be a lot of fun!!! I am looking for one receiever and an offensive line....any ideas where I can pick this up??? ;) --T |
|
Terry Tate is my new idol. i am getting a jersey when they come out;)
Tony... haha it'll keep you dry. Mike... the bucs will just get stronger, good, solid teams built on defense with a hippocratic QB (do no harm) will be around forever. I know there are lots of companies in LA, just trying to help a friend out, thanks for the replies thus far. how are you heather? :) |
Falcons are going to pick up either andre johnson (miami) or Kelly Washington(tenn) in the draft. they are both TO clones, though washington is prone to injury.
also, Rodgers from MSU is damn good, but will go higher. |
some skinny from kiper on good 2nd round OL pickups
Wayne Hunter (Hawaii) I expect him to be an intriguing prospect come draft day. At 6-6 and 315 pounds, he's a left-tackle prospect with tons of pass-blocking experience. With good workouts, he could enjoy a meteoric rise up the draft board. Draft outlook: Possibly a second-rounder. CENTER Jeff Faine (Notre Dame) He is the No. 1 center ahead of Wisconsin's Al Johnson. The 6-3, 290-pound Faine is a tough, smart, fiery, aggressive player who finishes every block and has a disciplined approach to the game. He understands everything it takes to play the position from a technical standpoint. He will be an outstanding NFL anchor for a long time. Draft outlook: Late first round to early-to-mid second round. Jordan Gross, OT, Utah Carolina's first major need is at quarterback, but this may be a bit early to look at the other QBs available. Gross is the top left-tackle prospect in the draft and would fill the second major need for the Panthers, giving them a starting point to build some protection for that young quarterback when he arrives. *Kwame Harris, OT, Stanford Though he is an underclassman, Harris is very experienced and a gifted athlete. He could be the best offensive lineman the Cardinal has produced since Bob Whitfield. He doesn't always dominate consistently, but at 6-6 and 325 pounds Harris is worth taking a chance on later in the first round. George Foster, OT, Georgia The Titans could use help on the offensive line, and Foster could play guard or tackle in the NFL. He's a tough, fiery kid would have gone much higher if he hadn't missed some time after sustaining a wrist injury in a car accident back in August. Foster checks in at 6-5 and 333 pounds, with extremely long arms, and would be a good value choice If the steelers are smart, they will pick up michael doss to help that secondary. if the pack is smart they will pick up Boller pr Grossman as a logical heir to favre, and if the saints are smart, they will pick up an EJ Henderson at LB or a Kenny Peterson on the DL, or Mike Doss in the secondary. |
One of those OL's would look good in Baltimore
Anyone got a spare WR? and a real QB - Trent Dilfer looks good again |
Dilfer always has been good, he got you a ring, the man gets no respect.
And Blake is getting better with age. What Baltimore needs to work on is its defense. the offense seems fine. But if you were to draft a QB... You could get Dave Ragone, or Kyle Boller, both excellent prospects. Leftwich and Palmer will be gone asap, but Dorsey will be available. hes another "hippocratic" QB. Grossman should still be available. Brooks Bollinger will be a nice 3rd round pickup, along with Chris Simms, or Engemann out of BYU.. |
Dilfer won but protecting the ball and not making bad plays - that works here! "hippocratic" QB as you said
Blake has never been a consistent winner and while he has great arm strenght and good mobility somehow the entire package never comes together Actually the D in Balto will be fine, Ray Lewis will be back next year and that will keep opponents from double teaming Boulware - Thomas came along well this year and Ed Reed is a playmaker The left side of the OL is great with Ogden but the right side has been an area that could be improved Really need a clutch WR, Travis Taylor is inconsistent and Stokley is often injured Heap is a great player (who is only going to get better) but the offense would be explosive and multi dimensional with the addition of a big play WR and a strong OL on the right side Last edited by Vick at Jan 28 2003, 01:15 AM |
luckily there are a lot of good receivers in the draft.
I think blake is better now, he stays in the pocket more. and can throw in the flat and the little dump passes accurately (something he could never do with the bengals). i think he will come around. Im not sure if hes in the draft, but bernard berrian is clutch. but if the ravens want to use a first round pick, id go with rodgers or washington. |
You know the NFL has reached parity when the division with Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Atlanta and Carolina is something to be feared
|
The NFC will be dominant for years to come. I just dont see a formidable defense coming out of any AFC division. MAYBE the ravens, or the steelers, but both are soft over the middle. Titans maybe, if they can get a lockdown corner and have healthy safeties.
And Jerry is correct. I think the tempature in hell may be getting cooler;) |
SweetT Prediction:
Peerless Price will be catching passes from Mike Vick next year :) (why? because we need a receiver, the Bills cant afford to keep him, the uproar in 99 when the Falcons did not pick him in the 2nd round, we shaved 21 million off of our salary cap for the upcoming year, and Arthur Blank wants to give the fans what they have always wanted.....and we always wanted Price) Write it down :) --T |
price is locked in in buffalo, him and moulds.
i doubt the bengals can afford peter warrick anymore |

From an interview with Buffalo Bills GM: "We've got a lot of work to do," Donahoe said. "I like a lot of things I saw with our offense this year. We have the potential to be balanced. We probably threw the ball more than we'd like to in the future. Our defense made some strides, but we have to get a lot better." That doesn't sound like a man who's ready to open the vault for free-agent receiver Peerless Price. Letting Price go would help nudge the offense toward a more balanced approach and give Donahoe more money to improve his defense. If he brings in a couple of impact players, the Bills could be a legitimate contender next season. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20030...128/1029778.asp --T |
Excellent points, and very logical argument. But you are forgetting, this is the bills front office, i would not be surprised if they brought back dave shula to run their offense, and had stanley wilson in the backfield.
:) Price is a high priced Free Agent. But i still think the falcons will draft instead. Kiper agrees with me, but that doesnt mean anything 23. Atlanta Falcons -- *Kelley Washington, WR, Tennessee Washington is a 23-year-old former minor-league baseball player who played only two years at Tennessee. He had an excellent freshman year but was plagued by injuries in 2002 and watched the last six games from the sidelines. But he has great size (6-3½, 225) and is a gifted athlete. Kelley can stretch the field, haul in the deep ball and give a team an advantage over smaller corners. Had he been healthy he likely would have been a top-10 pick. If he checks out OK medically, he would be a great value for the Falcons, who desperately need capable receiving targets for QB Michael Vick. |
and dont think TB isnt going to lose a WR. they are right at the cap and have McCardell, Joe J and KJ to deal with....
might be a nice pickup out of there. plus deion could come out of retirement;) |

Well, now I certainly cannot argue with that....good point :) Quote:
<!--QuoteBegin--grimm@Jan 28 2003, 11:20 AM 23. Atlanta Falcons -- *Kelley Washington. He had an excellent freshman year but was plagued by injuries in 2002 and watched the last six games from the sidelines.
Oh yeah....thats what I want....another injury ridden first rounder. Pass. --T |

This is why the Bucs have ZERO chance of a repeat, IMHO. <!--QuoteBegin--grimm@Jan 28 2003, 11:23 AM plus deion could come out of retirement;)
See my above post...the second point :) --T |
deion is an impact player, but his price will be too high.
Washington had an ankle problem, word is he is 100%, floating around the same spot is Andre Johnson, but look for the texans or lions to get him or charles rodgers. like i said, late rounders like Berrian, that kid out of montana state and others could be cheap projects. i mean look at history... first rounders dont do so well, you want the jerry rices |
as far as TB goes, they need to keep their DC, who is going to go to san fran otherwise. the defense will keep them in all games.
they need to dump KJ and his 5 million dollar mouth ASAP. but cannot until next year. they just picked up McCardell, and JoeJ had his first big year in 4 years out of PSU. Jackson and either brooks or barber are free agents too.. |

My kingdom for some DB's for the Steelers that can actually cover someone.
Kordell Stewart will probably be gone but I doubt the Steelers will let an AFC team have him. Bettis may be done in Pittsburgh. Lee Flowers will probably be gone. Anyone want a paper champion? :D |
Quote:
I'll admit Kelly Gregg isn't the greatest NT in the league Hate to see it but I think Bettis's time is done - wish I was wrong Biggest salary cap casualty coming 2003 .... Oakland Raiders think they are going to be 40M over - look for a mass exodus With the parity that exists in the NFL I don't see how anyone can say who will dominate Raven's have 17M freed up under the cap for this season |
To illustrate how unpredictable and crazy the NFL is
If I would have told you at the beginning of the 2002 season .... That the Rams (an early season favorite to go to the Super Bowl) would start the season with a 5 game losing streak and end up 7-9 That Miami would go tie for first place in the AFC East, Ricky Williams would gain 1853 yards, beat Oakland during the season and NOT GO TO THE PLAYOFFS Tennessee would start out 1-4 and the owner would say Jeff Fischer might be getting out coached and then go 10-1 the rest of the season and play in the AFC Championship game Pittsburgh (another Super Bowl pre season favorite) would start out 1-3 and that Tommy Maddox would be the teams saviour at QB The Eagles without McNabb would keep winning but lose the NFC Championship game with McNabb .... you would have asked me what is in the water I'm drinking and could you have some Last edited by Vick at Jan 28 2003, 02:58 PM |
ulfie.... steelers are slated to pick up Mike Doss (S) out of OSU. hes a hard hitting safety who can cover man to man.
