It took 300 attempts but they finally did it. We have no idea how this group is funded. They probably have a shit load of money from people who beleive in this type of thing.

Then again, it could be a huge marketing scheme to get a shit load of money to really make clones.

Yes, but wanna see what 300 failed attempts at cloning humans looks like? Malformed fetuses, still births, deformations. I don't believe they did that. This is why humans can't be cloned yet - at least not without these troubles. There is no known process of not producing the above first.

i hear they experiment freely with cells as long as they are under the 64 cell stage of development...so you never know what sort of mix someone might have made up....I find it hard to believe that they were succesful, although i recognize that all they really needed were two or three established genetic scientists who may have specialized in the field...but to claim they have done it and not want to prove it...gimme a break whoever was in charge would have made sure his/her name got into the books...so it was a fraud

in case anyone missed it,.... she explained in her press conference that the "technology" and "expertise" came from a very experienced veterinarian who had as she put it "cloned more than 3000 cows"

and to her entire story i would quote a greater person than she could ever hope to be (and certainly with better teeth)

An attorney in Florida wanted to sue to have the child taken from its mother. Whether the child is a clone or not, why would anybody even consider taking it from its mother?

If I were Rael, I would have done exactly the same thing. I would have sacrificed credibility for the wellfare of the mother and child.

They don't have to prove it with a DNA test. They could start with a white paper describing their methodology, results, success, etc. How did they do it without failures? Usually the paper comes first and the announcement second.

Even if the child were a clone it should stay with it's mother, unless abuse becomes a factor.
