Wow!
In the process of cancelling my VISA members, Paycom apparently thought it was a good idea to charge all VISA members who had a rebill coming up Nov 15th-Nov30th on the 14th already! I have members who signed up and paid Oct 30th, and have already been rebilled for another month yesterday! That is two weeks early! I'm sure members who were intending to cancel in those two weeks will love me now. And the rest will be confused about my questionable billing practises (and I can't blame them). In addition Paycom incorrectly calculated the removal dates for members who were last charged Nov1 - Nov 13th and gives them two months access for the price of 1! And finally, I had to ask them THREE times before they told me how they were going to handle the cancellations, and they did NOT tell me it was going to be done done like this. Greetings, Art |
that doesn't sound good art. Clay from Epoch/Paycom posts here sometimes, maybe he will see your post and explain what happened.

One merchant gateway I use starts trying 3 days ahead of time so they can get a few attempts a day in just to account for bill payment, transfer of funds, etc. But never heard of 16 days in advance, that's nuts! Perhaps it has to do with the new VISA regs, did you register with PayCom? If you're deleting members it sounds like you may not have, in which case they may be trying to do you a favor and sneak a bunch of money in before the 15th.

and that's before you get to the legalities
there are 2 sides to every story, I agree with Mutt, would like to hear the Paycom side |

One thing I DO have to say about EPOCH is that when there's an issue about them here they take care of it right away.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. Yes, it has to do with the new VISA regs. I did NOT register for VISA with Paycom, so canceling the members was expected and the right thing to do for Paycom. No problems there! Charging members up to two weeks in advance is not really what I had in mind though, and it definitely not what I consider to be a favour. Actually I expect it's not good for Paycom either, it could result in (quite a few) chargebacks? Greetings, Art |
Well I did say favor, I didn't say it was well thought-out.

The Ibill situation seems a bit different. From what I understand from that GFY thread, Ibill simply continues to bill on the scheduled rebill date - even for account they are apparently not allowed to process VISA for. In my case, Paycom billed VISA members up to two weeks before the "scheduled rebill date". (And that rebill would never be processed, of course, because that date was after Nov 15th). Hey everyone,
OK, just to keep everyone informed: Clay quickly checked up on this for me and unfortunately had to confirm that what I said was correct. Apparently something went wrong in the process of canceling my members (and otherwise reworking their systems so that everything was in compliance with the new VISA regulations before the 15th). Obviously that doesn't make the problem go away, but the fact that Clay quickly acted on this and honestly admits that mistakes were made, makes it a lot easier for me to accept. So I want to say thanks to Clay, and I consider this issue now "closed". Greetings, Art |
