Playing Ace/3 before the flop means that you probably have the 2nd to third best hand at yr table.

The chances are someone is already holding an ace with a better kicker , and there is the probability of someone already holding a pair.

The other two that stayed in the betting where holding aces but I got the win with 2 aces and 3 three's. this game doesn't suck :yowsa:

At this point it is you!! LOL You'll get better with practice and, as Nick said, read a book.

I highly suggest the following poker books. The links go to Amazon UK for easy use by you. There are books that are specific to online poker as well (that I didn't list) as it IS different than a real life game.

Doyle Brunson's Super System II or Doyle Brunsons original Super System - The original is considered the poker bible. It covers more games than just Hold Em though. The sequel (II) is much of the same but there is some more that was added. Either one is quite good.

Play Poker Like The Pros by Phil Hellmuth - the "poker brat" and former world champion has a pretty good book here.

Winners Guide To Texas Hold Em Poker by Ken Warren - more of a beginniners type of book that you might want to rerad before geting into other books.

I'll admit that it's fun, it just gets a bit... what's the word I'm looking for... boring, when it's 5 or 6 hands between wins, but then two come along - one after the other and it makes it interesting again. :D

Not a problem.

Not a bad book to start with. Not great but not horrible. I highly suggest getting one of the Super System books eventually though. It's considered the best by a whole lot of people.

Hmmmm If you play like that you are playing rubbish cards (or the luckiest shit in Christendom LOL ) and a good tight aggresive player will be watching..................... and waiting.He will be able to make an very educated guess at what cards are in yr hand , and then...you are fucked lol

The real trick IMHO is changing it up.

Get the respect of people as a tight player first...then mix it up...surprise 'em :)

Means they can never put you on cards :)

Enough callers 6/7 or 7/8 or 8/9 suited is an interesting hand.

fucking Scandanavians play them all the time. In general if they are from there they scare the crap out of me.They will go on anything and keep betting at you.

The only thing you can do is wait , and wait and wait...lol

The best is waiting for someone , and you know they have a/k a/q a/j...cause of how they are betting and there past behaviour......

If the flop is none paint and you are holding...its lovely jubbly time cause they tend not to lay down there A/K ( I call it "pretty colours" syndrome) :)

The best ever is just sit there patiently seeing flops with middle pairs , and if no set , no bet.

If the set hits.......its "thank you jesus" time!!! LOL

But hang on...now I'm telling you the plot LOL

hahaha, well Trev, that's not where I was going with that. Recently I was
in Barns and Noble and walked by the Sex Section of the store and seen
a book, dating for dummies. I decided to pick it up and see just what kind
of information was in that book and found it to be quite enlightening and
figured if they could produce a book on dating, they probably know a thing
or two about poker. :)

It'll know a long way more than I do, I've moved over to play on the free part of pacific poker until I learn more about the game, I'm still $21 up on my initial buy in though.
