Never saw Karas as a free site, i always remembered it as a paysite before they figured out how to register domains it was at rjbtelecom.com/karas.

I also remember when Wild Rose met some chick claiming to be Karas from Karas Playground lol

I also remember one of the first porn sites i saw that made me want to get into online porn websplash.com. I remember when Timon's exit console crashed my ISP server and his Amsterdam CumBath was the coolest free site. I also remember being banned by Al Hadley when I asked for .005 cent increase in payouts on his original CLickcash.com program.

I like to remember when VCA first got online, that was more memorable for me. They didnt know how to count clicks and made me a lot of money :)

I remember a casino that if you put in a popup it credited you X cents in the real early days.
Then they fucked up there accounting and kept adding more and more clicks.

I wasn't around for this one either. I too only knew Kara's as a paysite. Seems it was a freesite before that run by RB and Bob and Bob posted to surfers on the site as Kara and they ate it up!

Their affiliate program amounted to two banners (ever!!) and a cheap piece of trash stats program that was a dropdown that you could never see a period, only one day at a time. That was it! They were still worth a few billion at the time and the best they could do was toss $50 for their entire "affiliate" program. Think that first version of theirs lasted a year and a half.

LOL! I remember that too! I had up a weekly freesite, 10 new pics each week, and was using content I swiped off UseNet. Then I met Meat as a newbie who gave me this 30 minute ICQ lecture about how The Sheriff and his Posse from APIC would run around killing sites and having webmasters arrested and sued. He did a great job of scaring me shitless. So I said how do I get content if I can't afford to buy it? So I did what he said and posted on the private Netpond board about needing 10 pics in 10 categories in exchange for traffic ... They were my first sponsor at one cent per click. :okthumb:

I remember Lensman walking around the first IA2000 Internet show in Orlando, looking totally lost, and asking how to start one of those web sites.

And who can forget Joe Liberty (I know Serge can't), who sat in my living room for 4 hours with his wife, without ever saying a damn word. Talk about uncomfortable silence! The guy was using stolen Raquel Darrien (sp?) pictures for his "Lovey" site, and people bought it! He was also the guy who sent you your checks (or part of them at least) for the above-mentioned "knights" program.

I also remember when JoeE threw his first big party at the Clarion in Orlando, and didn't have enough money to cover the tab. That one was funny ;)

I remember back in 1997, ScottP puking all over the elevator while we were all in it, then getting a shit kicking from another webmaster.

Ahh, the good old days :D

Lord knows I have such a good memory it's scary sometimes, but that's how I remember it. Sincerely. If you had actually said "please take it down", I would have at the time and quickly, buddy. I remember one Montreal -- at least I think it was Montreal, they all blur a bit -- when a bunch us were up all night and then had breakfast at dawn, still up at 6:30 in the morning. I recall the restaurant was two blocks from the hotel and across a parking lot. I seem to remember Snoops was there, and Grimm, and about six to eight others but can't recall who. Where you one of those, Slav? It's very possible.

Anyhow, I recall we were all tired as hell, sun in our eyes, having been awake 20 hours and drinking all night, coming back from the restaurant, heading to the hotel, slowly, like we all had heavy chains on our legs, and we hear music coming from the back of this place we were passing by.

Turned out to be the back of a strip joint that was actually open and rocking that time of the morning, and we were all dead and continued to slump over to the hotel to get a whopping couple hours of sleep before another day and night of hellraising ... and what happens? Grimm disappears into a strip joint!! Last we saw of him until the next day.

My second site ( my first was on demo0n.co.uk , departed when my first bandwidth was GBP 6000.00 for the month) was sh.janey.net~ilynx , I believe.

I got to know lots of webmasters back then through my habit of considering newsgroups to be a "great content giveaway" :)

And Dravyk , I actually own a lot of CV Prod content.And every Zmaster ever LOL
