Think this will help the rest of Europe get with the game?
Will it harden the Spainards, who have been devestated by muslims before? Will this effect American public? Wake them up the fact the war on terror is still going on? I bet PD and Meni have the answers! |
I think that were basques....
|
Could be alQaida; could be Basques. Doesn't look like an ETA operation for a couple of reasons.
Worst case scenario is that they are working together. On the surface it seems unlikely, but who the hell knows. Mikey, I don't claim to have any answers about the war on terror except to track down the terrorists. I personally don't believe this was done to divert attention away from the fact that Howard Stern was dropped from 6 stations because he stopped supporting George II. What country would you propose Spain invade in response to this attack? |

Spain could knock out Syria.... we can help out! Whats up with the Stern thing? 6 channels pulled him? Out of how many? It is lame to put that on Bush. |

It was Eta that did the bombing, not Al Quada. Even though Al Quada are trying to take credit for it.
|
If it is ETA it's very strange, they usually don't kill people with their bombs, they give warnings, and they have never done anything like this in the 45 years they've been around, the majority of their leadership is in prison, it's mainly run by younger people now.
The government here has cracked down alot on them the past few years, banning their political party, putting politicians in prison, the UN yesterday issued a report saying that the Spanish government tourtures ETA prisoners. I've lived in the basque country, seen the police fire teargas at peaceful demonstrations, club people just for marching, or being a a member of the political party. I've also seen the badside of ETA, The killings of politicians, small bombs, fires etc. If it is ETA then they have just given up politically, and things will get extremely bloody, but I don't think it is. It seems strange that its 2 1/2 years to the day since September 11th. Spain was a stong supporter of bush. They arrested Al Quada members last week in the city where I live. |

I spent quite some time working on Tolosa near San Sabastian about 4 or 5 years ago and I got to know quite a few people very well, well enough to leave and head for Barcelona when ever they had a 'rally' or 'demonstration'. I feel the younger generation that is the party now see 9/11 as the way to go in achieving their goals. Heck I think every terrorist group through out the world see's 9/11 as a standard now. Maybe it's ETA maybe it's Al Quada... makes no difference, terrorism is terrorism no matter who makes the bomb. |

I lived in San Sebastian around the same time. right in the old part, where they used to have the protests, I could sit on my balcony and watch it all going off, you could see both sides, and it didn't take much to set the Spanish police off. But, yep whoever made the bomb, it's still terrible. They we talking about suicide bombers on Spanish TV lastnight, if they were used then it's not an ETA bomb. Al Quada did 'raise the stakes' so to speak as terrorist acts go, but I really don't think ETA would do something like this. I was in Santander lastyear when they bombed there, it was about 100 yards from my house, I heard it, then ran out into the street to see what happened, was at the scene 3-4 minutes afterwards, there had been warnings and the whole place had been cleared, it just doesn't make sence for ETA to do this. Although saying that, it wasn't that many years ago that whole villages in the basque country were raised to the ground, and they've got long memories in that part of the world. |

I hope not and hope it was Al Quada because if it was ETA then thats another 'seriously' dangerous organisation to worry about... As you say if suicide bombers were used then thats not really ETA's style, the Spanish although head strong arn't fanatical enough to go down like that... |

I can see Alicante's stadium from my window, but they're crap. Valencia's close though, so I may pop up there for a few matches. San Sebastian, for a small city has got a great team. I do love that part of Spain, my wife was born there, and my kid conceived there, but it just rains too fucking much, it's like living in England :biglaugh: |

And yes, you have my blessing my son. Just say 10 Hail Mary's and all will be forgiven. Don't worrry about the penis problem, there is surgery to correct that and no one will ever have to know. |

Mike do you think Bush got Bin Laden's family out of Spain yet
like he did here? oh boy he wanted Bin Laden huh? to get his family out of the USA safely. So does Spain now go invade some country Can Spain use the same intelligence we used? |
J still living in fantasty land? What did your friend the former President and Secretary of State say about this situation?
|
Trev and El Pres, I was enjoying reading your dicussions. Sorry it was inturupted by a moron.
There seems to be a lot of confussion in Spain as to who did it. Politics are starting to play a part, and this is why some people may be trying to pin this on the Basques - to get votes. Which would be very sad. |

Meni you are an idiot? do you go to the moronsRus.com board and just cut and paste stuff here? First, I think it was major mistake on Bush's part to allow Saudia Arabia to ferry the Bin Laden family members who were in the US out of the country. Even though they probably had nothing to do with anything, it would have been nice to at least had the chance to question them. As far as invading countries. I am on the record that Syria is on top of the list. Meni you should stick to subjects you have clear understandings about.... not sure what they are, but we can keep looking. Your emotional posts blabber on like some kind of PMSing woman. They make no sense, and always point to Bush as the person who personally is trying to ruin your life.... Meni maybe you need some more testosterone.... Barry Bonds maybe able to help you "grow" some balls! |

Bush sucks are a president what has he DONE NAME ONE THING ok NAME 4 THINGS I can't wait for Stern to bring his ass down |

If it's ETA its good for the existing party, *PP*. If it's Al Queda it's bad. so there's alot of politics coming into play now. Technically they stopped campaigning when the bombing happened, but that's not really the case. It's quite interesting to read the forums and see what people are saying, there's alot of anger at the government over this, but they will probably still win the election. |

Bush sucks are a president what has he DONE NAME ONE THING ok NAME 4 THINGS I can't wait for Stern to bring his ass down[/b][/quote] Meni I am not a huge fan of Bush, most of the things he has done or not done are lame. But the 3 things most important to me, Bush is strong on. Without National Security, Howard Stern and his fans may be ducking terrorists attacking us rather then dealing with indeceny issues. Stern is a talentless moron who is starting to demogogue... the funny thing is watching all his fans parrot everything. My top 2 issues.... 1) Prosecute a succesful War on Terror 2) Cut taxs Everything falls behind this. If I thought Kerry or any democrat would continue the war on terror as a military venture rather then a criminal venture, I would be open up to the idea of them as President. But the bottom line is Kerry is chump who would put OUR security in the hands of the UN. An orginization who has never solved any real problems, not to mention military conflicts EVER! |
Dude Stern is talentless
he followed his dream of being a radio DJ he talks for 4 hours a day no music has 10 million listeners no talent? and Bush tough on TERROR WHERE DUDE? IRAQ? thats a JOKE |
Terrorism only works because it instills fear into the heart of citizens and those citizen/sheep react.
If you are worried about terrorism, then you are helping the terrorists. Do you think that negotiating with hostage takers helps future hostages? The US and the world needs to take a stance of refusing to react to terrorist incidents with anything other than a newbyte of "these assholes killed some innocent people today, they are bad evil people". By having alerts, running scenarios etc..etc.. all the govt does is encourage you sheep to sit around in your homes and worry. More people will die this year from the common cold than from terrorism, so why dont you all spend your days worrying about washing your hands, wiping your noses, meeting strangers and drinking and eating in public places? |

1. When did I ever and I do mean ever say I had a friend who was secretary of state or president? Post it please or apologize for lying. 2. Who in Europe did not get "onside" in the war against terror. Please post that, or apologize for being again misinformed. You and serge are amazing. You have a lot in common. You both make heaps of money and spew heaps of bullshit. And like serge, you have no idea how to spend that money nor how to disguise the bullshit. Oh yeah, and I think you both live in Fla. Please see above on no idea how to spend your "wealth" lmaorof. Last edited by J'sdude at Mar 13 2004, 09:07 PM |
Pssssss...
the largest problem facing the USA today Skyrocketing gas prices Think not - look at history 1976-1980 - can you say painful recession Gas went from .32 per gallon in the early seventies to 1.00+ per gallon by the end of the decade - - remember the gas lines, spiraling inflation, mortgage interest rates in the teens? Don't have the exact figures but that is when many households became dual income with both spouses working to maintian lifestyles - which leads to another can of worms Fuck your Bush, Fuck your Kerry, Fuck your President and Legislature OIL IS WHAT'S IMPORTANT!! OPEC will be meeting in April (I believe)and is looking at cutting back production We could be looking at gas prices and high as 2.80 per gallon this summer in some areas Fuck that, let's get Iraq on it's feet and demand they sell us oil below market prices, if not well.... we'll just have to take it and pay then what we feel like- not sorry by the why J'namedroppingnoname (let me spell that out for you - you are a name dropping no name) You claimed to have dined with Jimmy and Rosalynd Carter, met a Secretary of State, flown on Air Force 2, met Princess Di and lanced a boil off the Queen Mum's Arse I call bullshit! Never happened (but you have read a little - woop de do - you knew the Michelin guide didn't name any 3 star restaurants in the USA - bet you jacked off when a Englishman was named to head the publication a few years back), you live in a fantasy world By the way how's Mrs. Nesbit? |
Meni getting emotional about Stern's lying bullshit again and J's rambling about... something... in the same thread.
This page needs an enema. |
