it ir true that you were the ones who grew GFY into what it is today and responcible for bringing the MORONS there who squeezed you out?
did you do the job "too well" for your own good? I ALWAYS lkike to learn from OPM... Other Peoplke Mistakes |
I had a good run there too for awhile...
|
if posting regularly on a board constitutes a mistake then yeah i am guilty of posting on gfy.
lack of moderation made that board what it is today. what does any of this have to do with certain gfy personalities posting here? i post to keep up with whats going on in the industry and to communicate with my comrades. that aint no sin Pilate, please dont crucify me. |

this si all reminds me of Communists who made a Revolution in Russia in 1917 just to be all slaughtered by Stalion in later years.... and YOU, are...the Trotsky ;-))) |

don't take my post as any kind of offense... it's more of a STUDY and learning and bringing historical parrallels.. |
sounds like some drama queen gossip to me...
People actually think that much about message boards? Last edited by cherrylula at Nov 22 2003, 03:04 PM |

To answer your question then.
YES, a few us helped fuel that board. Then it turned into what it is. The fact that we are all self sufficient and independent is the reason the beast still thrives. You forgot: Labret, Joe Sixpack, and a few others. Martyrs my friend, martyrs. :stout: |
|
I get the topic.
I just don't get what is so fascinating about message board chatter. Yeah of course it all comes down to money. Some of us just like to post. cheers :hic: |

We all know the answer. cheers my friend, i just like to post while i work. I even work on Sat & Sun... so i post then too. :stout: |

Lack of rule enforcement was not our fault. In 97 I was setting up live cams and streaming video for some of the founding names of this biz. cheers. i even helped set up the world famous BOURBOCAM on Bourbon Street back in the day. 97 was a good year for a young guy loike me. :stout: Last edited by Fletch XXX at Nov 22 2003, 03:20 PM |

although a board personality may come off as strong, intelligent, inventive, a leader.. in some cases its very much the opposite.. Its for people that dont have the balls to deal with reality face to face.. its an escape in most cases... I am nothing like I appear to be on the boards, its just an act for the most part except when it comes to business, that i do take seriously... I am a lover not a fighter, except when i get caught up in this dungeons and dragons theatre... I personally am not a social outcast, I enjoy life off the internet more and more each day. If you think about it, it is so unhealthy to live out your fantasy on a msg board kind of like the matrix, a dream where you are who you picture yourself in a fantasy world.. 9 times out of 10 the person behind the nick is so transparant, its sad.. I think we all embellish some part of our lives through this form of communication with others... human nature i suppose mixed in with modern technology... this isnt directed at anyone in particular, just made me think a little bit... |
just made me think a little bit...
********************************** and this si what I like the MOST about Oprano....when "football fans" glued to TYV instead of the key board ;-))) |

accept me as such? :stout:[/b][/quote] there are always exceptions to the rule, I dont think you are fake.. i just meant that almost everyone fabricates some part of their lives to not feel the pain of the reality of it all... self defense mechanism.. i know i do it from time to time |

you seem to like art serge, did you know i have helped curate and organize art exhibits in nola including warhol and basquiat exhibits, as well as Dale Chihuly venice glass exhibits?
I gave cherry personal after hours tours of some of the finest art in nola. that is a good time. going through a Koontz, and humidity controlled 3 million dollar Lichtensteins with a video camera and a beer. good times are all we know brother. :stout: Last edited by Fletch XXX at Nov 22 2003, 04:36 PM |

the only question I have is... will Lensman follow into Stalin's footsteps? or NEW history gets written as we speak? if I was a betting man, I'd say All Is Vanity 1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. 2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. 3 What profit hath a man of all his labor which he taketh under the sun? 4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever. |
