With all the people coming and going in our biz, here is something to ponder. Who has walked away from this biz with $1million, $5million, $10million? Alot of people have left this biz, but very few have left with their wallets full. Some have returned thinking the days of easy money never left us. Or they blew their $ and came back for more, only to see there is little left.

Lets start naming names.

For me, when I hit my goal, I plan to walk and become full time family man and part time fisherman.

My friend that I'm working with that started Vendorcash left the adult biz in pretty nice shape. B)

The woman still believe your family man Act ?

Who said he was going to marry a woman ? ?

BradShaw 06-30-2003 03:04 PM

Billy hit the nail on the head. LittleC, go join the groups of attention whore loving deserpate bitter women because they have so many issues they can not find a decent man 12 step program.

Vick 06-30-2003 03:15 PM

Hmmm I could hazard some guesses (and I may be wrong) of a few who walked with substantial amounts of revenue
and there are more that I just can't think to name at this time

RB (even though Max Cash still operates)
Serge
Robin Nixon
John Ferber

another factor is the burn out
How many have left just because they were tired of the business? (I know that bears no relation to who left with $)

I know on a personal level it takes much motivation to keep the day to day operations running and can be challenging

Edit - a few more who left the biz with $$$
Dean Shannon (always a class act)
Crescent Publishing (say what you will, they walked with $)
Seth W (or maybe not, depending on who you believe)

Um I think we met several hundred of these type of girls this weekend at our business "seminar"

BradShaw 06-30-2003 03:43 PM

Vick good list. Toolz, not sure if I got to say good bye, you were a little tiesd up, and I had to go as my nuts hurt after Grimm decided to punch me in them for the hell of it!

Vick 06-30-2003 04:25 PM

Thanks Brad

A few from the list I put together came back to the biz, and we will see how things turn out.

I think Dean got back in and then back out pretty quick. Looks like Serge has done well with Oprano. Robin Nixon just got back in with the Oprano group. Ferber left and went mainstream

Also the people from Xpics (was that how it was spelled) probably left with a good deal of $

Am sure there are many, many more who left with little or nothing (or sold out for pennies on the dollar) or still hang on with a much smaller revenue stream than in the heyday of 96-99

Brad, you left too soon... Chris had a bunch of extra ice that you could have used to stop the swelling!

Marc De 06-30-2003 08:12 PM

Hey KC - hit me up on ICQ please. 46972932

Thanks :)

You're not missing anything except the "email me to get started" B)

webmaster at onlinebeach dot com

I'm still working with the damn programers to get the Vendor cash site set up right. It works fine, but there's a lot of info they didn't seem to bother getting in there. They wanted the mechanics, I wanted the "show" :P The product sites are:

http://www.guaranteedissue.com
http://www.nationwidevoice.com

Reader's Digest version - non adult pay per signup programs with more of them coming. :)

Email me and I can get you affiliate URL's and tell you the payouts. I'd do it here, but I already hijacked a thread once doing it and I feel guilty doing it again.

Grimm already dumped all the ice down Lee's pants, where was Lee anyways it was his bachelor party and all I saw were 6 other guys that weren't Lee enjoying themselves :)

Brad, yeah you're right I was a little tied up, damn business meetings.

sold the business to a public company in 2001, escaped for a while, came back to jointly run it until 2002, now doing mainstream business with proven porn concepts (ie make more money than you spend) :okthumb:

I'm leaving broke.....

Real Estate is the new hobby... :nyanya:

*KK* 06-30-2003 11:52 PM

Hey Vickster -

Most of the old Xpics guys are still around, you'd be surprised at what they are doing.

Same thing with Seth...

And there's at least one member of the Crescent crew still in it.

I know one of the Xpics crew has become an "intellectual property" pimp and is playing the patent game.

That game may actually be more sleazy than porn...

Timon 07-01-2003 01:12 AM

The short obnoxious jewish kid from Seattle is out but he sure didn't leave with an empty wallet ;-))

BradShaw 07-01-2003 01:14 AM

I think I saw more Jews this weekend than ever before. The detroit JCC was in Vegas, but no sign of seth. Although, I do not think Seth made off with much at all.

Timon 07-01-2003 01:21 AM

That's exactly what you're supposed to think ;-)

Mike AI 07-01-2003 01:24 AM

This is an interesting thread....

What I always found interesting, was the people who left the adult biz.... but then came back. Some people left at the top, but then had to try to break back in at the bottom....

Timon 07-01-2003 01:26 AM

I wonder how much Rick Somers made off with.....

Timon 07-01-2003 01:27 AM

at least a hundred bucks I reckon ;-)

slavdogg 07-01-2003 01:32 AM

Did DMR crew leave with any real cash ??
How about Ibill sellouts and Igallery founders ?

I can think of more people i helped put out of biz than those that retired with gold in their pokets :)

DJ, i'll trade you one of my condos for some of your eReal Estate :)

voodooman 07-01-2003 02:16 AM

Lets not forget about LikeWhoa!!!

LOL....forget it, Slavik...the eReal Estate returns are way better than normal dirt...as you are no doubt aware...I'd trade ALL my dirt for your eRealty.... :wnw:

Have you been finding it more difficult to find anyone with a clue about what a domain is worth? For me, they tend to be too low or absurdly high.....very few are realistic.....or what *I* would consider accurate...

I'm not sure what "rich" is supposed to mean in this thread anyway...enough to retire forever? And live what kind of lifestyle? Rich is relative to the friends you have...

sextoyking 07-01-2003 03:17 AM

Hi DJ,

Well Said there. :)

yeah being rick in Texas is not the same as in Cali
thats why Brad is a parttime fisherman :D

sextoyking 07-01-2003 03:59 AM

God I am glad we don't have sales tax in oregon. :)

Timon, don't be telling secrets ;)

Then they'll all want to go to Thailand lol

spanno 07-01-2003 05:47 AM

why leave if you're making money

funkmaster 07-01-2003 09:49 AM

no me.

Vick 07-01-2003 09:58 AM

Hey KK - hope all is well
I don't know if much about the old Xpics crew would be surprising but them again ....
It's funky to say but they were in some form pioneers in the industry (some things not in a positive fashion)

Another one I forgot who left with some $ (and a lot of, well ..... )
Kid Slick - Rick M
He did the Ranks thing but ended up coming back to the biz

spanno - sometimes you need new ventures or challenges to keep the juices flowing but it's very hard to walk away from the revenue

I spent 14 months with only one foot and half a hand in the pot in the adult on line industry (but Cloud 9 keep right on chugging along)

sinsin 07-01-2003 10:56 AM

Why is Robin Nixon returning? Or to be more direct, why is he returning to work as a webmaster? I haven't seen any changes yet on Oprano, so what is Robin doing that Mutt didn't do? :redance:

BradShaw 07-01-2003 11:55 AM

Slav, for sure it is easier to be rich in Texas, thats why I love it here! I would be in 1 bedroom condo in SF, but here I can own 2 homes and 10,000sf, not to mention an office building that is crazy cheap.

Cassie 07-01-2003 02:37 PM

i know someone personally who is well known in this biz. this person had a fortune only to have accts seized, hence losing all that money. starting over isnt so easy now for that person and i feel bad for what that persons mind must be going through. :(
