if we all vote "yes" that you should buy one... does that mean you will get rid of that fruity yellow car you have?
:awinky:

sarah_webinc 02-11-2003 06:39 AM

if I had the money and if I had a driver's licence I would get one...so yes.

I guess it all depends on your needs. It would bottom out the first time I drove it down The Driveway of Death, so I would do better cutting up $85K and using it as confetti, but if it floats your boat and it's practical, go for it! :okthumb:

Mike AI 02-11-2003 10:20 AM

I have to agree with KK -Vipers are nice, but in my opinion over rated.

But what do I know?

Billy 02-11-2003 10:24 AM

Well Mike what cars do get you wet : )

KK ? ?

Penrod 02-11-2003 10:28 AM

Since it is in Miami, and you buy this particular one. I will drive it out for you.

Brad Mitchell 02-11-2003 10:43 AM

Being from Detroit myself.... Dodge sucks! Stick with imports Lensman.

RichC 02-11-2003 10:45 AM

Seeing pics of the 03 was one of the main reason I went out and bought a 02 back in August.

I think they messed up on 03....they took away the curves I liked. They made the new one look too boxy.

Zebra 02-11-2003 10:54 AM

So Rich.. how IS that Viper? Get it fixed yet after that little desert drive? ;)

Lens - Be different, get a GT40!

Mike AI 02-11-2003 10:56 AM

Right now Billy, the SL55 is the car I want.

I am on a waiting list... I know you can get them right now if you want to pay 50k+ over sticker. Unfortunately with these economic times, I cannot justify blowing 50k+ just to sooth my ego... especially when I have 8 other cars....

But hopefully sometime this year, my name will come up on the list... I think it would be a good car for Tampa... Sharky and I can go cruising!!

:rokk:

cazn you blow $5000 to sooth my ego?

I am giving you 90% DISCOUNT!
;-)))

RichC 02-11-2003 11:03 AM

It's back to perfect Zebra, but the car does scare me a wee bit more now. Definitely have more respect for the power.

Peaches 02-11-2003 11:10 AM

The problem with those cars is that they HAVE to be a 2nd car. I drove my Dad's corvette for a week a couple of years ago (before moving to the hills) and besides having every 16-18 y/o male driving Hyundai's to Civics want to race me at all the stop lights <_< , I realized that making a weekly grocery store run was virtually impossible as you couldn't fit more than 2 grocery bags in the damn trunk!! And woe be the day you want take more than 2 other people with you somewhere! :zoinks:

Plus, when driving on the interstates in Atlanta, I felt like I was driving UNDER all the semi-trucks. I like at least thinking I have a fighting chance with them in the SUV :okthumb:

I like GREAT BIG trucks and SUV's :bjump: :bjump: :bjump:

Mike AI 02-11-2003 11:17 AM

For YOU Serge, NO PROBLEM!!

Check is in the mail!

Me too, same reason I finally broke down and got one last October. Always loved the curves on this car ever since I saw the first one back in like '94. Forget the power, I'll never race it, just love the look!

:rokk: :rokk:

Toolz 02-11-2003 11:50 AM

Love the German engineering so the M3 is my coup du jour right now but the new 6 series, replacement for the old 850csi is probably gonna be my next ride. There's an M6 being promised with a V-10 or V-12 in a 2+2 coupe, one of the main reasons I love the M3. However I have been looking at dropping my SUV and going for the new Infiniti FX45, anyone drive one of these yet?

Mike AI 02-11-2003 12:08 PM

Toolz, the new BMWs are very nice....

I used to always prefer Mercedes... however I think BMW is finally catching up with them.

I am probably going to get a Tahoe for Tampa. We have the CLK 430 here, but we need 2 vehicles, and I need something I can use to carry equipment and people.

They still have 0% financing on GMs?

Julene 02-11-2003 01:00 PM

I dare you to buy it and race it all the way down Pacific St to Loomis

Mike,

Isn't there a rule you shouldn't buy a Mercedes until you are at least 50 years old?

Get the Tahoe Z71, had mine for almost a year . Best SUV I've ever owned.

gigi 02-11-2003 01:41 PM

I think unless you spring for the AMG Mercedes, I would take the BMW anyday.
Mercedes just feels too loose after 30k miles, the BMW is always tight and agile.
Mercedes is a luxury car trying to be a sports car, the BMW is of course a sports car trying to be luxury.
But then again the SL55 is the shit :)

you sound like my insurance agent.
She made me promise to stop buying and selling my cars cause she tired of issuing new paperwork.

I have issues I admit it.

Is that what is says? At least some one reads it.

Lensman 02-11-2003 04:19 PM

I agree that the SL55 is a hot ride. It's about a half second slower than the SRT10, but the refinement level is much higher.

JFK 02-11-2003 05:21 PM

I much prefer the earlier models, they took too much of the raw edge out of the new ones ! But I will not turn you down, if you offer me a ride !

Toolz 02-11-2003 05:26 PM

Shok,

Back in a beemer yet or you gonna drive another American rust-bucket after the F150?

Mike AI 02-11-2003 05:36 PM

HomeGrown, I already have a CLK430... its in Florida with me, its a great Florida car... especially when top is down. It is still tight, not sure I put 30k miles on it though... I did take it out to the track with my Vette and I havee to say it handled corners just as well.

The SL55 is what I want... but I like the S500/55 as well. That is the car I will get when I am old! :D

PornoDoggy 02-11-2003 05:45 PM

Hmmm ... I will be fifty far sooner than I wanna admit, and I drive a 1987 Chevy Cheyenne pickup with 235,000 miles on it. The Seville only has 100,000, but I still prefer my truck.

Mercedes? Nah ... my girlfriend is getting a little suspicious about my driving past this particular house that has a 1966 Karman Ghia for sale, though :D I got me a plan, however ... see, once I show her that '68 Baracuda, she'll be fine with the Ghia.
