Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Thanks, Peaches. :)

My husband is in the kitchen doing the bills, as he does the 15th of every month, only this month he's chuckling to himself. Those "pornographer wife makes good" moments give him such a giggle. :)

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Some of us don't have the time to process the flat board.....

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Morning all. Coffee is on.

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Hmmm .......
Mutt was always the commissioner in the years past
Don't think the software is challenging to install or resource intensive (but might be beyond me)
Need a few pretty pages for the site (which is beyond me, I know my limitations)
As far as adding the scores in through an admin, having the info on weekly winners out by Tuesday morning (always a Monday Night game), adding the new line every week, acting as a impartial judge in case of any disputes, reminding players to get their picks in every week (I like the idea of a short weekly email) than I can help out

Have to find out where Mutt got the software to run the pool, think it was easy to find and inexpensive (does anyone have facts on it?) If not I can look around or drop Mutt an email

Bottom line is if it adds/offers something of value to Oprano, something members of Oprano want, increases revenues, visits, visibility, memberbase and something advertisers want in on

The NFL season opens on Thursday September 8

Damn I have a gift for the obvious!!!

Yeah so let's talk (if the members are up for it again this year). I'll be busy most of Tuesday but might be able to free up a little time, If not Wednesday will work.

Think last year might have been the biggest in terms of amount of players

It's 4:33A.M/ EST (GMT -5) so am not at my brightest

Everyone please feel free to chime in

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Might even consider opening a forum for the Oprano Football Pick 'Em so we don't drive the few non football fans nuts with Football threads

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Good morning Oprano :)

Congratulations Morgan and very well done :okthumb:

I think the pickem is a great idea, I would offer my time to getting it up and running but I'm all out of spare time and I'm into borrowing from the next day already

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Yay! Great to see the flat board back, albeit in this new incarnation.

Sorry I didn't post earlier, went to Jordie's athletics carnival today, then got home to find my net down...grrrr.

I voted in the poll...and was very pleased to be able to choose the first option and not the second (at least since the weekend!) :D

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Athletics carnival, interesting. Is that like a sports day or am I way off the mark?

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

Sports day it is. :)

And extremely exciting too. Jorge has been trying to beat his best friend and fiercest rival in any long distance race for years, cross country since Yr 2 and 800m since Yr 3 (they're now in Yr 6), and finally today, he did it!

He beat Matt in the 800m event by about 30m. He was sooooo excited and Matt was thrilled for him too, they had a big hug at the finish line (very cute for two 11 yr old boys). :bpurpdanc

Re: Its Nostalgia Week at Oprano!

That's excellent :okthumb:

Your children really are fanatical about sports, it make a refreshing change to hear and it's a far cry from the yobs hanging around on the streets here.

30m though, that's a massive spanking. I bet Matt got the surprise of his life :yowsa:
