i love the stories of the plagues and the killing of children though. the removal of kings is always fascinating to me, since thats what jesus was trying to say anyhow. as i said, there is a lot of good stuff in there. stories within the stories. |
I prefer the New Testament. It describes in great detail how the semite poison was spread into the diaspora.

All I said was is the claims made by Peaches that academia is rampant with made up stats and kook science is bullshit in that we have checks and balances. What some dick does outside the classroom is all him. For example, you on this board with your made up econ theory. You can spout it off all day on here, I would looooove to see you get before some econ professors. checks and balances. Because you make shit up outside of academia, should all econ academics be punished? Of course not, but we already know this. You are just prone to flights of fancy to illustrate your brainfarts.
You stupid, ignorant, insipid asswipe: My father is an economics professor. One of my degrees is in economics. I am friends with and correspond regularly with Dr. Walter Block, Dr. Michael Saliba, William Anderson, Thomas DiLorenzo, and Lew Rockwell. I understand enough about economics to explain how I knew from the moment I first read one of you inane posts that you were a graduate of public school. Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me you didn't go to public school. |

Quite honestly, I rarely read books to "learn". While there ARE some which I enjoy learning from, I almost always read for strictly for entertainment. My attention span is short so magazine, newspaper, internet articles hold my interest better and teach me more than reading a book would do. |

I think that will suffice for the rest of this idiotic debate of yours, and indeed any other bullshit leftism you care to share with us. |
Hey buffy ... you quote one instance of a leftist academic who fabricated figures about a subject that gets you aroused (guns), and use that as some sort of proof that all academics - or at least all leftist academics - falsify information, and you have the gall to denigrate public school education?
Have daddy ask for his money back. |

Buff doesn't love this country. Buff loves an abstract idea of what he thinks this country ought to be. The America that lives and breathes in 2003 is an object of Buffy's contempt. After all, there are too many public school commoners running around. Last edited by PornoDoggy at Dec 2 2003, 01:27 PM |

isnt the idea of 'public school' itself COMMUNIST?
|
There was no specific "day" about this - it's obvious from the posts (he and a couple of others) make.
|
Labret, if you wanna be "like Serge",
you MUST find your way out of the mess you put yourself with quoting USSR vintage statistics as the GENUINE fact ;-))) c'mon, at least you gotta try! bumps and bruises bild the charecter |

'a fool does not care whether he understands a thing or not; all he wants to do is show how smart he is.'
Thankfully, per you, I obviously enjoy showing how dumb I am. B) Of course, I'm hoping you don't equate learning from books specifically with "understanding" things. That would show a large amount of ignorance on your part as there are many illiterate people who "understand" more things than you and I combined. :awinky: As you grow older, you will hopefully realize that different people learn things in different ways and being "book smart" is entirely different from having common sense/being "street smart". Sorry I don't have a clever Bible verse to back this up with - just a few years of experience. Maybe you could find one for me? :okthumb: |

I can give you numberous examples of right-wing ideologues fabricating and distorting statistics in academia too. He says academic fraud doesn't exist, I say it is rampant. I believe it's more rampant in some areas than others, and those areas are the ones controlled by agenda-driven leftists, but that's my opinion, it would be hard to prove; whereas, proving that fraud exists is much easier. Summary: Idiot made stupid claim. I proved claim false with one example. I never said "all leftist academics" do anything. I had two exceptional neo-Marxian (their word) Philosophy Profs, Dr. Vogt -- an Austrian guy and Dr. Mu, a Chinese woman, who used were as biased as the day is long. Yet, they were/are great teachers and completely academically honest. They exposed me to post-modern thought. PD, Labret is a jackass, why would you want to take up for him? Do you pass buildings and say to yourself, "Damn, that building completes me!" Or does it have something to do with sharing a sense of belonging with this heterogenic population which all happens to reside inside specific geographical borders? I neither love nor hate nor feel indifferently about "America." I love living inside the geographic borders and interacting with many of the citizens of America, but I also have contempt for many of them. I would be willing to bet you and I are the same in that respect. |

I proved that there are frauds in academia who make up stats and facts, something you said doesn't happen. He taught at a university. Yes or no as to whether I believe ROI for the Soviet Union per 100k of population were less than that of the current American imprisonment binge? Hmmmm I am inclined to believe my professor, but as I personally have not seen the statistics of old style Soviet incarceration, I am hesitant. As I know any slip will result in you riding me like a cheap Mexican whore. That being said, the stats I posted previous that showed Russia as slightly trailing the USA in ROI, are stats that I personally have read that says that post breakdown Russia has resulted in an increase in ROI. So, if Russia is still sitting behind the USA in ROI, and that is post Soviet collapse... hmmmm Last edited by [Labret] at Dec 2 2003, 10:52 AM |
