Weren't we talking about AEE? Which is owned by Questex? Their info shouldn't be hard to find. They filed for chapter 11 late in 2009.

AEE and Internext. Two very seperate events run by different organizations. AVN lends their name to AEE a la "Steven Speilberg presents...."

I was pretty sure I read a while back that while AVN licensed their brand for use in conjunction/ by the Expo, they have very little to do with the Expo itself - running, managing, or arranging. But I may be missing something.

Regardless, somehow it escaped my attention when I was in this thread way back in November that we were talking about the Keynote for AEE, not I'next. Now that I realise we were talking about the show that is primarily targeted at consumers, I'm really confused as to why everyone got all sacktwisted about Sasha speaking. It kinda made sense when I thought we were talking about her speaking as keynote at the webmaster show - though it felt kinda schmucky, I got it. But having her as a speaker at a fan show?

Well ,she's who the fans want to see and hear from, most likely. So there, it makes sense. And I stand by that.

Uh, back to the devolution of this thread, now. Sorry to bring it back on topic, guys! Y'all continue beatin' up on each other.

OK yall I got nuthin against Nina but trust me you do NOT want to hear her speak.

Liz while AVN claims it isnt a consumer show and argue it all you like...fans weren't admitted to the keynote speech it was on the industry only day IIRC.

I know it's a novel idea but why dont we have someone speak who might actually be able to put some value in it...and drag em up a fucking plant or two jesus that looks like it was shoot in the cafeteria at the county lock up

Possibly the decor and the room were purposely designed to reflect the barren wilderness of today's porn. The lack of creativity reflecting the skill of the average webmaster. Perhaps a visual allegory contrasting the complexity of character and deep vision of the speaker.
Or was it just a huge fucking fiasco?

First time in over a decade I have not gone to the January Vegas shows. I'm sure same is true for many others including some participants in this thread. Show organizers aren't listening to attendees as to what they want from these shows, and attendance continues to drop.

HP... with due respect, I have been on Oprano a very long time. I understand the "feel" of things around here and bitching and whinging is part of the territory. Hell, it's part of the reason I come around too. ;)

There's no "point", here... not really. People are being judgemental towards a keynote speaker. It's expected. I actually met Sasha. She's nice, intelligent, she listens to everyone she interacts with. That's what struck me the most about her.

As for shows, what can I say other than the economic climate has made the situation what it is and people are scrambling to change the way they do things. Things will evolve.

Apparently the same applies to you Evil. So, you have to ask yourself whose opinion does really count. I have watched folks over the years and many of those opinionated motherfuckers are gone. And they had all the answers. Many, like 12clicks, tanked their adult business and are back hoping to regain faded glory. And they had all the answers. Some have tried to cut it with their own websites and failed. They had all the answers. Many of them are now working for others, and some have even tripped from failed program to failed program. And they had all the answers. Funny that.
Now at Oprano, I would say you are in the company of folks who have ridden the storm and are successful to varying degrees all on their own initiative and are doing well.
Now, what is curious is, they don't seem to have all the answers.
You have to ask yourself Evil....ten years on...where do you fit and why do you think your opinion is more valuable than say......mine?
