I'm guessing this is Mailman from Medium Pimpin?

The whole Exclusivecash suing NATS thing and pulling NATS and thus leaving their affiliates high and dry is a convoluted deal and one I'm still not clear on details wise. I thought they had a good case against NATS but once they yanked NATS and left it up to all of their affiliates to change their links and didn't provide them with an easy way to do that, they kind of lost my support. I'm sure there's more to it than what I know, but it's still seems like no one is blameless.

For the record, I've never been an Exlusivecash affiliate and am not owed any money so I'm merely a spectator and have no vested interest in the outcome. Personally, I don't know Chris, but I've known and liked Jason Tucker for years, so I'm still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

You have any idea why he cut and ran and left us high and dry on the DRM deal? We had some real scrambling to do that was very costly and he just stopped answering his phone after blaming everyone involved but himself. Or is this just a dirty little secret no one likes to talk about?

I remember his DRM project and he came on my radio show a few years ago talking about it and I found it quite interesting, but I didn't follow what became of it much after that.

from the way I saw it all go down, there was a discrepancy discovered in the amount of rebills that were paid out to affiliates, and instead of dealing with it, chris got bitchy with nats on the phone (from what I hear this is pretty normal of chris)..

after they locked the nats install affiliates could still log in, the only thing that gets locked is the main admin....NATS even said they would allow them to log in and pay affiliates as long as lawyers were present....xclusivecash said no

tucker walked into all this right in the middle and had NO idea about any of it, and I DO feel bad for him, BUT what made me lose any, if not all, respect that I did have for him, was a few months ago they secretly switched from nats to mpa3 across all their sites and didn't inform their affiliates....3 affiliates that I know personally found out by just happening to go to an old gallery they had up and click the nats link and it directed with no codes...tucker/chris sent no warning out or even told anyone before hand...that is some shady shit...i understand the need to get new tracking up, but that is something that should have been widely announced

there was a lot of shady shit that went down in the whole deal, but the bottom line is that affiliates never got paid, and it wasn't even a priority of XC to pay affiliates as shown by their decision to not take nats up on the offer to log in...chris and brandi are some shady ass fuckers, and like I have said previously, anyone that would partner up with them is INSANE, they have fucked people in this biz before tucker signed on with them, chances are they will screw tucker over eventually

Interesting? It was the Chinese curse. Him and his buddy got our business along with a few others I am sure. Then one day, they just kind of out of the blue folded it. We were stuck with a whole lot of encoded videos, which had been costly and painful to get set up. These clowns took forever and charged large for it. I talked to Tucker who always seemed to be driving his Escalade or whatever it was when he talked to me, more promises of rescue, then the calls stopped. Except for one (or was it an email) where he demanded last months payment for service. Man that guy had some balls asking for that. Really bad businessman. I don't care that he runs some big ass photo joint, he still has the capacity to stiff his clients. I wouldn't trust him as far as the length of my keyboard. I also notice he continually reads this thread and never responds. Where's my freeking camera, Jason?

btw, I just wanted to let you all know that this post was my opinion of what happened from reading all the posts on gfy and other boards, I tried as best I could to put the pieces together, but I am sure there is much more to both sides of the story

The Titanic was a perfectly fine ship that was sunk by an extremely freak accident. No one could have predicted that the ship would ever hit a submerged iceberg that would breach several airtight chambers and make a ship that otherwise would have been nearly unsinkable, sink.

That doesn't change the fact that DRM is a very useful way to use P2P sites or to keep members from downloading all of a site's videos and watching them beyond the membership expiration. Just because a company may have pulled some shit on the people that used it doesn't make it any less interesting. I also said I thought it was an interesting idea several years ago at the time that he talked about it on my show, when it was a relatively new idea.

Now don't go wibbling on me.

DRM is very interesting and useful. That was exactly why I bought into it. That was never my point. Tucker was the problem. He handled the company and the customers about as well as White Star treated its passengers. He cut them loose to drown with inadequate safety nets.
Edit: you see, what I find interesting, is no one calls Tucker out to talk about said disaster. Why on earth would you defend anyone who conducts business like this?

Where in the world have you seen me defend Jason? I said I've known him for years and consider him a friend. He's not a close personal friend and maybe instead of saying 'friend' I should have said he's someone I'm 'friendly' with, because other than having friendly conversations with him at conventions, I don't really know him. If I had actual business dealings with him and had used his DRM service and been fucked over I would certainly feel differently, but at this point I don't have any first-hand business experiences with him and I'm not going to condemn someone based on what I've read about them on the boards. I don't think I'm in a position to either defend or condemn him.

The DRM debate is a good one.
A good example of how DRM works is how well it prefoms inthe pay per minute genre as opposed to DRM but used to protect content inside of a members area.

[The views expressed on Oprano are those of the posters and in cases not mine....or Evil Empire Inc.. of course unless I posted it]

This is where my surfer eyes and my business eyes disagree.

From a business point of view, I love DRM.

As a surfer, I hate it.

For it to ever get traction outside of the VOD world, it'll have to become a lot less intrusive. From the user point of view, their experience should be no different than viewing a simple mpeg.

Even then, it'll only work on exclusive content. If I can go down the street and get the same thing from someone else without DRM, whose site do you think I'm going to get my videos from?

Surfer wins here so far.....proof of that is that even guys like Nasty Dollars/Bang Bros who produce TONS of exclusive video content every week are NOT using DRM.

At least Chris sends you an ICQ when I use to hit them up I would get no responce being I would go to Chris because TUCKER DID NOT OWN XCLUSIVE CASH and then chris would never respond and then mins later Tucker would hit me up..

all I know is that from when they stoped paying webmasters through nats forget the original issue that caused all this I am owed at least $4,500 and thats only till feb when I got sick of taking screen caps and they only pulled off nats a few months back.

every post I make is of my opinion and all information is gathered from various posts by those on the inside and those speculating

I make sure and let people know that when I post

I have said it time and time again with every single post, the only thing I know for a fact is that affiliates of xclusivecash have still not been paid

Do you know what libel and slander are? They are exactly what you just admitted to doing. You are saying things about a company that you don't know to be fact. If they can prove that the things you are saying is causing them financial loss and that what you said was not a fact, that is libel.

Just because you say you've only heard this from other people or read it on other boards doesn't protect you from a libel suit if what you are saying can't be proven as fact.

Let's say that I post on a board that company A stole from their affiliates, but I'm only repeating something I'd heard or read and have no first-hand knowledge or proof.

Suppose that I'm popular on that board and people listen to what I say so they start pulling their links and switching to another sponsor.

Suppose that company A can prove that I directly caused those affiliates to pull their links which then caused them to suffer a financial loss because some of those affiliates were generating substantial signups.

Suppose that company A knows they can prove that what I said was untrue because of some facts that I and the people I'd heard this stuff from weren't privy to?

Not only am I going to be slapped with a libel suit, but chances are very good that they will win because they will be able to prove all the elements of a libel suit.

1. My statements were false
2. My statements were made with the intent of causing ruin
3. My statements were made to more than one person

Just learn how to go around, and play thru the law, its how cases have been who for years.
Interpreting the law to work in your favor is very successful for lawyers now days. :)

The "Proven with actual fact evidence" barely works anymore in court cuz it's so hard to do.

I agree that libel is difficult to prove, but then again, I sure wouldn't want to have to pay to defend myself against a libel lawsuit whether I ultimately won or not.

True again, but we all know that 90% of these cases even when lost. People don't do any time. Look at O.J Simpson. That guy owes millions in a civil lawsuit with Nicole's family, and that asswipe is playing golf right now in some multi million dollar golf course.
