hahah, actually, as a youth, I was quite involved in the Mormon church and was even wondering where I'd go on my mission...one of my uncles went to Thailand, another decided he was gay and left the church...one of my aunts won't talk to me to this day because I am in the porn business...she even avoided me at my grandmother's funeral...wouldn't even look up and acknowledge me, my wife or my kids (who were trying to play with her grandsons) |
Good read...

My father was a coke dealer during the time the pipeline was being built.
I cook like Martha Stewart and play poker like Annie Duke. I lost my virginity to a tow truck driver. For some reason I like the job of bashing salmon on the head while fishing. |

Not at all, she's definitely not a mom. Not a positive person and I haven't spoken to her in 15+ years. Just a biological birth unit My grandmother and my father's second wife (they have been married for 30+ years) are my moms Oh no more revelations |

I took a look at how I was with my kids. My wife and I were both on it at one point. We would get all fucked up on Friday night, continue on to Saturday and then once it ran out we would crash and be total assholes to our kids because WE were tired. We would go on binges where we were up 3 or 4 days at a time. I have alot of guilt now because of that. I missed a good year of my kids lives just because I wanted to stay high. In the beginning, we would get high and hang out with friends and have a really good time and it was like "yeah this stuff is GREAT". I could party and be social and be totally confident in everything and work for 18 or 24 or 30 hours straight. Once the real part of the addiction set in, we became very reclusive. The only people we wanted around were each other and the monkey's on our backs. My wife and I both became distant with each other toward the end and I would find myself all night hiding lines so she couldn't have them and then I would sneak them. Our relationship went a bit sour around that time as neither of us really trusted the other. I hate that period the most because she is truly my buddy. She is the only person in this world I trust with my life. I basically just said fuck it. Tore up my dopeman's phone number and flushed it and quit. I still get the urge sometimes pretty bad. It's one of those things I guess. I am just smart enough (or lucky enough) to have dealt with it on my own without losing everything. Alot of times though, if I get a big payment on something or I am up a couple grand for the month, the first thing that pops in my head is to call up the man. Just have to keep fighting it and not do it. They don't really give you an instruction book when you're born. It would really be kind of helpful though lol. |

Cocaine is a Hell of a drug. I could go on for hours, but what's interesting is the simmiliarty of your story. |

I could go on for hours, but what's interesting is the simmiliarty of your story.
Yeah, it's similar to a lot of stories. I met a lot of people in NA when I was with Amanda and she was trying to quit. Nick, GREAT that you kicked it, man. It really takes a hell of a person to dig down, see where they are and make the decision you did. |

And the most fucked up part is, I don't not like doing cocaine. I am an upper guy. Weed is alright, drinking makes me feel bloated and out of control, acid...well fuck acid and all that, but coke is really my drug of choice. I just had to decide if it was how I wanted to go out and I chose the other. It's tough though. I did a little bit at internext in Florida and I could feel that monster coming back. It's a hard road but it's worth it for my kids and family. Not to mention that I feel so much better when my nose isn't all fucked up and my endorphins are at a normal level. |
That's a very inspiring story Nick! :okthumb:
Jesse, congrats! Make sure you let us know ALL the details...gender,size, length, hair or no...and it's name! :) :) |
I got kicked out of Catholic school in 9th grade....
I've broken every finger on both hands at least once (excluding the thumbs) - one of them on a Nerf football in Jr High.... When I took typing in high school both pinky fingers were in splints and didn't heal properly... to this day I type on the keyboard like I'm ready for high tea - pinkies up in the air... lol |

Nick :wnw:
In the last few years since I hit the wall and watched my health slip away, I think I have learnt something very important ... If you don't hit rock bottom at some point in your life, you will NEVER learn anything important about yourself. People who have experienced complete and total despair seem to find the place in themselves where their strength comes from Without the life circumstance we have all lived, we wouldn't have ended up here!! And by 'here', I don't just mean Oprano. |

This was one of the best threads I have read anywhere in a long time.
It's odd to see so many experiences like my own in these posts. I was raised a Jehovah's Witness kicked out at 18 and went to live in my car at an amusement park. Didn't start partying at all till 18 so I was a late bloomer like Joe but I tried to catch up quick. |
