Don't they have at least another 2 years left on the contract with the Westin? Plus, the maps aren't even showing Miami has a hurricane watch AND if it gets near Miami, the chances of it happenind twice in 3 three years at this exact same time are a little slim :awinky:

I predict you are wrong. :okthumb:

Edited to change tornado to hurricane before you other brats caught it :nyanya:

I was a member of Metrowest in Orlando (redlion lived on the course actually) and they claimed that they had oner of the highest viewpoints in Florida. 400ft or something I think....

Now there is a good question. Thought it was three year. But I am not sure which. Hmm.

So far, so good. There was lightning I saw from the plane on the way in, but I suspect it was just a "late afternoon FL" storm. We hit some of Bonnie on the way from Atlanta, but here, it's sunny :) Tomorrow may be a different story, but I was mainly worried about making it in here :agrin:

Looks like it may just be wet in Miami....current tracking shows it going up the gulf side straight for Tampa.

We may find out how good the backup power is in the data centers that are in Tampa.

sharky 08-12-2004 10:54 PM

I'll be sticking it out in Tampa tomorrow, and leaving right after the hurricane leaves saturday morning. I should be there in plenty of time for the bellyflop competition!

Peaches 08-13-2004 01:42 AM

We are finally getting some strong winds some lightning and a LITTLE bit of rain. Pretty tame for someone who wants a good storm :) Colin just called on his way home and said it was pouring down rain where he was.

I kept seeing the lightning outside and figured JFK was out there taking pictures. :agrin:

LOL! That sounds about right. :)

Glad to hear things aren't as bad as the were portented.

Hell Puppy 08-13-2004 11:35 PM

Looks like the show caught a huge break.

Also came ashore far enough south of Tampa that hopefully everything and everyone up there is ok too. Still near 100 mph winds as it went across Orlando though.
