Rolo,
Understand what you're saying but this could be great for both. Yanking the surfer to other paying products will not settle his appetite for porn.

Plus bottom line is the bottom line, follow the money. Wherever the most can be made

ah ha ha ha Nick

Send the Green Fairy to Florida

Not really - I have business to attend to there

Rolo 07-27-2004 05:12 PM

Well - if new wave of TGPs will think in $$$$ instead of traffic, then I´m sure it will all work out at the end B)

Nick, can chinese and other asians shop viagra at your store?

Nickatilynx 07-27-2004 05:16 PM

LOL

I hear that it does really good.

;-))))

Rolo 07-27-2004 05:29 PM

Excellent - that rhino-horn powder is getting harder to find in large quantities :awinky:

Vick 07-27-2004 05:29 PM

Take it even further .....

.... if the Viagra sales work (or not) you still have a buyer to send somewhere else

Back to porn, over to refinance, out to new software

Think about it, if someone buys Viagra on line they have sex on the mind and might not be able to do anything about it right then but they might want to look at ......

Nick - you're beautiful - have I told you that lately?

In a manly way of course :cool2:

LOL

This season on NBC, "Everyone loves Nick...In a manly way , of course"

Oh and stop ringing the house , the wife is getting suspicious!

;-)))

Well, our own little private study showed that those who bought the pills, also bought the memberships to paysites...

However there is a group (30-40% on the traffic we tested), who will not or can not buy anything - pills, memberships, dvds, hookers, WMD etc. they do not bite...

I had a feeling Remote Thumbs would come to this party.
I know a while back everyone panned the idea when Joe mentioned it...[seems to happen a lot] but this system really is underrated.

It took me 5-10 minutes to set up a quick TGP.
The beauty of it is that it uses ONLY hosted galleries...no 2257 issues potentially. No cocksuckers submitting galleries of KP, beasty, or creatively marketed toolbars shit ware.

Your clicks go to a hosted gallery to ONLY the programs that you have refcodes for and you can filter them by genre.

You can even migrate your existing templates into the custom template engine and no more supportless script authors to coddle either.

Whats the catch? They skim 5% of your clicks to their TGPs.
And you can use a trade script with it as well.

The only shortcoming they have is the fact that they dont promote it for the slick script it is.

Wanna call bullshit on me? Better check it out first at www.remotethumbs.com

Youll note I didnt use any ref codes to send you nor are they a sponsor.
This is a flat out personal endorsement by someone thats been using it for a month now.

Guilty as charged on that one... The hate for TGP grew too strong in this one, being so young :P

But Joe seems to have a top program with remote thumbs, I guess an apology is well over due

Edit: Don't hit enter after placing a smilie

Rolo 07-27-2004 05:53 PM

Trev - no worries there will still be other traffic sources...

However one of our none TGP sources had a bad conversion day today - only 1:165... I think someone is polluting that traffic source ;)

I hear that porn surfers enjoy learning about money making opportunites and how to make money on Ebayand I hear a nasty rumor of membership sites that just might cater to those surfers ;-)

Count me in!
I'll be happy to support the celebrity section of the oprano tgp with licensed content provided the 'rules' are more flexible and aimed at making sales, not just at bringing in the most traffic.

From what I can gather from the discussions so far ...

Mike has the amateur niche covered
I've got celeb covered
Gonzo has Fat Guys Can Fuck content
Joe has remote thumbs and content of chicks with weed
Rolo has a tgp
Nick has pharmacy
ToyBoy from curious cash has the gay niche covered

as a TGP idiot, what are we missing?

SykkBoy 07-28-2004 02:23 AM

the thing that would make more money for submitters that can be trusted is being allowed to put pics on a full html page with a link under the big pic and the big pic being linked to the sponsor....doing it on NN TGP's about 40% of my signups are coming from those links...

On a personal note, after watching this discussion develop I have never been more disappointed with my inability to attend a show. I soooooooo wish I could go to hollywood this year, but will have to wait for Vegas to become a 'made man' and meet any of you :(

Pics and videos on html have also shown good conversions on our end - the old reasons for not having content on html (cheating) is not a problem anymore, if TGPs trust their submitters. Another plus I found with the videos on html is that the gallery maker have much more control on how the video will be played... Many surfers have videos shown in the browser, which can cause playback problems (ex. that strange windows media playback feature in IE, which play videos in the same small size - also exotic players which hijack the playback for different video formats etc.).
If the video is embedded in the html, then you can control size etc. and if you are too affraid that surfers will not be able to watch the video in the embedded player, then make a link below the embedded player, which goes direct to the video file.
Another plus is that you can have the embedded video in a different format - ex. wmv for the embedded player, and mpeg for the download link - that way you can save alot of bandwidth since wmv in same quality as mpeg is about 30% smaller in file size.

I'd love to see that as a standard! Would make a TGP gallery consist of 15-20 sales pages instead of 1... and 15-20 pages available to be SE spidered... that would immediately make the idea of submitting a lot more attractive to me. I would look for TGPs with good PR category archives and submit to them as I get something as valuable as 1-2 signups to me, without having to make a sale direct from the gallery.

Opti 07-29-2004 02:57 AM

Actually, thinking about it, I wouldn't do that regularly if i had to hand submit to lots of TGPs.. still not worth my time to submit I dont think.

Maybe a central gallery submit option that lets a webmaster get listed on all TGPs in the cartel with 1 form would be smart.. If it's an oprano thing then hopefully it will be designed to be attractive to Oprano webmasters... not many here will hand submit 1 gallery dailly like TGPs work currently.

People here will want to make a batch of galleries and hand them over all at once unlike current TGPs work too.. an oprano tgp should be able to handle that imho..

Wish I could be at Florida too now! (does this mean you are going to risk entering the US Nick? :P )

Hell Puppy 07-29-2004 02:59 AM

Careful or you're going to invent TGP2!

Opti 07-29-2004 03:44 AM

LOL... I was going to say "why not just redo TGP2 idea" but that idea was flawed as surfers wouldnt return to surf it.

Pics on html pages may not cause that problem though (any TGP expert have an opinion?)

Maybe Oprano TGPs could decide not to rely on "bookmarker" traffic at all.. and be able to list any sort of gallery.. I bet hardcore TGPers would love to try making some "dirty" galleries for a change. (although many tgpers probably haven't ever seen one designed to "sell them hard then piss them off fast")

Charge a monthly fee to either TGP owners, the submitters or both and use that to supply the traffic maybe.

The reason beside the "cheating factor" is that it interrupts surfers who like to just go to the gallery page, and then right click to choose "save target as" on the different thumbs... now the surfers who do this are probably the same people who are making their own private porn collection of free content, and who will never signup or buy access to paysites, unless for the sole purpose of downloading the entire members area, and then cancel right away, so making them have to work a little harder for "their" content, well that is just karma long overdue.
Normal surfers who "surfe" tgps, galleries, tours etc. will not have a problem with this.
