I remember DJ as one of the most eloquent and intelligent (albeit sarcastic as all fuck) pissers on the old flat board...even before he was my boss. ;)
My marriage breakup was 'outed' on that board...I even have the pages saved...lol. I 'met' CeeJ for the first time on that board and then only days later for real when we realised we were both in Brisbane. :agrin: Too many good times...good friends...good fun... Feel like I need tiny violins to play... |

Peaches, I was going to ignore you, but you are so much fun...trolling after me - post after post!
You don't have a clue what I do or what friends I have made on the boards. You choose to only see the negative. I got to you years ago. Jesus, woman! Even CJ forgave me for my early mistakes. I visited Netpond from the day it was created. I was like Gonzo...just another reader. When I finally started posting, I threw in a comment or a question now and then using a different name every time. One day, I stepped back and told myself I should be a part of the group. The mistake I made was that I tried to be anonymous. It didn't work. The tight-knit group didn't want an anonymous opinionated voice. I got hurt and fought back. I was lucky enough to have Lee Noga and Meat on my side. Meat didn't ban me...Aga did. I have put it behind me. I respected the ban. I have never posted again on Netpond from the day I was banned. I remember all the craziness, the off and on banning of Serge, the posting of the latest news, the contests, the fights, the shows, the jokes, and the hundreds of different personalities. It reminds me of the death of Napster. Changes take place whether we want them to happen or not. Meet me for a drink sometime, and then judge me. :wnw: |

Are you coming to atlanta to meet Peachie for a drink? Ill bring the FFN crew too...we will all buy you a drink! But you have to drink Ice Wine by the pints. But out of curiosity....what the hell does Napster have to do with Netpond? Or did you hear that Kev and Darci were back stage with Lars over the weekend?...they were snapping pics and asking him about Napster! I think they were celebrating his upcoming segment on the History channel. |

Touchy touchy. From your own mouth, don't assume to think you know what we feel. You don't understand, fair enough. No one here faults you for it. Those of us who do understand, share the kinship that was the Main Board that was Netpond. Not the spam riddled sham of what it used to be. Your credentials at Netpond really don't mean much. The fact that you don't understand the difference of the board when we populated it, and how it is now, shows the difference between those of us who made our bones on it, and those who simply came after to pick up the crumbs. It will never be what it was. I wish Meat and Aga the best with their new venture. Since I spent 4 months doing the paperwork for the sale to go through between Nickatilynx and Aga and Meat. and the 2 years I ran it, 1 year of running the Newbie board, it is near and dear to me . But that was then, this is now. :)
I know your history with Netpond Anthony, freckled with good and bad as it may be. None of that makes *my* history with the board and my feelings about the board any less valid. I'm touchy not because we disagree, but because you attempted to invalidate my feelings with your down-the-nose post. If Netpond itself were being closed down I'd get sentimental with the rest of you. That's not the case, though. The boards are still there. The flat board would still be there if all of the people who have posted here and on the flat board today with their sentiments had kept posting there. Like I said on the flat board, the only shame about it closing down is that it was neglected and left in total disrepair to become a spamfest - humiliated and disgraced - before it was finally let out to pasture. |
anyone NOT fired from Netpond with an opinion?

The only thing I'm bitter about at the moment is being on dial-up while waiting for my DSL line to come in next week. I'm not dumping shit on anyone. What I *see* is a lot of shit-dumping, though. You all look like a bunch of old friends getting together at a pub to toast the passing of an old group member, reminiscing over the good times you used to have... when not one of you bothered to check in on him over the past year and see how he was doing. If you don't see the hypocrisy, that's okay... my glasses aren't rose-colored. Toast up! |

While I enjoyed (for the most part) my time at Netpond, and it was certainly a learning experience working there, I have always been a tad proud being the first to leave and not going with the crowd. Not putting anyone down who stayed longer or decided enmass to stick together. That was cool for them. I just have zero regrets having decided to go my own way and doing my own things. If that turned out to be tangent, so be it. My opinion on the board closing was already posted on that board. :) |

I have some friends who would take a bullet for me, and I for them. One I haven't seen in three years, another probably not for seven. If anyone of us needed the other, we'd be there in a moment's notice. When anyone of us do next get together, time will have folded to zero, it will have felt as though no time has passed and we'll pick up the inate rythm of our banter immediately. If, heaven forbid, one of them met with an unfortunate accident, by your analogy no one should show up for the funeral since having not seen each for years means by your definitioin that none cared for the other. Maybe now you can empathize. And if you don't, then you don't. |

Toast up!
Carrie, hows this for taking off the rose colored glasses Nobody here who is reminiscing gives a fuck about the netpond flat board the past year, we are talking about the closing of an era that it represented for us. We all left the board together when whiney fucking newbies like you started mouthing off without a fucking clue what you are talking about - just like you are doing here. Its like when you have a friend who you stop having things in common with so you only catch up for coffee occasionally, then just fall out of touch. Or when your friends get divorced and you lose touch with one of them ... that's what reminiscing is. I like meat & aga, Jayman, headless, but never liked the community at netpond when those who I did business with left. Meat, Aga & I contact each other directly if we need to. We can sit around and toast a 'period of time' in a pub whenever we fucking like, and oprano is our pub. Who the fuck do you think you are coming in here and telling us we can't reminisc in our own pub?! Nobody asked you for your opinion. If you don't like it, keep your lips permanently attached to brads ass and slurp your way back to whatever the fuck that board is called. let us reminisc in peace about times way before ye. |
I was there when it was C.O.N.D.O.M, had my first site ripped to peices by Nick and I was told to fuck off and try again.... I lurked watching piss after piss, deals being done, partnerships formed, programs launched... yadda yadda yadda
BUT!!! I still couldn't give two shits if that board stays or goes... it's only a collection of pixels Last edited by Trev at Mar 18 2004, 01:29 PM |
Hehehe - Confucy, you are so incredibly predictable.  I need to start wagering with HP and Gonzo on you - the only problem is that they would agree with me when I made a prediction so they'd never make the bet. :(
I know a lot more about you than you think, and one of the things I know is that you would never have the balls to meet me for a drink. Some proof is all your ranting and raving about wanting to have your day in court and then being a pansy by not only refusing to show up, but lying about not knowing about the court date, lol! :P You are not now and you never have been in the porn industry except for any gofer work you might do for Lew and your frightening infatuation with Duck! You can't even use Lee, the only webmaster who tolerates you, as an adult business referral since she's not a pornographer. :okthumb: |

I tried to explain it nicely, but fuck. I remember when you first started posting. Really stupid assinine know it all shit, which you carry on with to this day, ie in this thread. I remember, because Nick turned to my offic through the door which seperates us and said, Is that Carrie the same Carrie as... Which I answered, Nah, my Carrie wouldn't know how to turn on a computer, and wouldn't be caught dead looking stupid on a message board. I see you have kept your fine tradition alive and well to this day. You keep telling us if we cared we could go back. Get your head out of your ass, we don't post there because we DON'T CARE TOO. We left that board to Newbie Wannabe players that can't do double digit signups on a daily basis (sound familliar?)and look what happened to it, it became a spam board. Seriously, if you know my history, then you should also know that I've taken it quite easy on you in my old age. Nick used to have a law, No pissing with the Newbies or Members. Which I have still upheld replying to you, well Noob anyway. People have asked you nicely, myself incuded to fuck off and let those of us who share a common bond alone. If you want some pyscho babble explanation why we feel this way, go talk to a doctor. I think I can talk for everybody when I say, Shut The Fuck Up, go rain on someone elses parade, you are not welcome to here. |

Egads.
Unless you grew up on CONDOM and NetPond you remain clueless of its intrinsic value and contribution. The times antiquated the flat board..... I said it then, and I will say it now, running the 2 NetPond boards was a mistake, it fractured the community. The flatboard remained the bread and the butter and the threaded was intended to supplement sponsor exposure so I was told. Running the patriarch board free and the threaded board paid was the error. They should have closed down the flat and gone threaded at the time GFY was taking off, and not gone paid...and they would probably still be a force to contend with....at least in the Top 3 boards. No season veteran would move to a busy body noisy stupid threaded message board littered with lameness threads chasing a trip to England....thats when the earth shifted. Yup, I made quite a beef on the flatboard about this much to the annoyance of Aga and Meat....trying to bring to the attention the fracture of the community of the posting gorilla's that added such flavor and lurrker interest. But they built a different, milder community that are quite happy over. NetPond has a name but lost its founding game, thats all. I do not agree with incentified boards, never have and never will and Oprano is one of my fav boards because it is REAL....and not doing incentives has spared Oprano alot of volume noisy threads which turn me off. Busy does not mean better....I am noticing Brad is running out of threads to start....which I hope over time does not make that board appear, "forced" to keep momentum. The times have changed the roles of resource sites, newbie help places etc. 300+ boards are probably in commerce and our industry is scattered amonst them all. If every resource site went down, we would be none the worst. The message boards could carry the learning need. Anyhoo we have way to much free porn due to TGP webmasters, so we really need to teach alot less.....we are at the point where if the noobs cannot figure out this business, stay out of it :-))) Last edited by LeeNoga at Mar 18 2004, 08:53 AM |

TGP webmasters aint the problem...program owners that build a business off of conning surfers and ripping off affilaites are! I guess the debate on Flat or Threaded boards is over then!

Do you always want to be surrounded by people who have the exact same view as yourself? Seems life would get pretty boring and your business would get stale after a while. Personally I'd rather have someone banging heads with me and making me think than have a kiss-ass yes man, but whatever rocks your boat. :) |

Damn. I had my pants pulled down and everything. What a let-down. CJ you can do better than that, I've seen ya do it. For a bunch of folks who preach about thick skin and not taking what's said on the boards seriously, it sure is easy to get you riled up. All you have to do is present a differing opinion. Imagine that. |

Carrie is an interesting creature...she either makes smart or moronic posts with absolutelly NOTHING in between ;-)) ========== You just can't get into your head that no one cares about your point of view. Netpond died for us when we left. What was left is something you hold onto, not us. I believe I have concensus that you in this thread have been moronic. Anyone disagree? You don't get that I don't care about *your* point of view. Maybe one day you'll remember what it's like to have a differing opinion, a fresh point of view, and not have to fall in lock-step with everyone else. Keep bashing if you wish. I'll go on being nothing more than a moronic newbie, and you can go on being nothing more than a sidekick, and we'll both be happy. |

does it really upset you this much that you aren't included in the 'reminiscing'? or that you and your other newbie friends ruined the most successful board in our industry? don't take your failure's out on us love - save your bitching for weasle's board! :bwave: |
