DirectNIC is ICANN accredited. While it sounds impressive, the reality is we have a lot more control and pull if domains gets put into a bind. Being ICANN approved means we can get a lot more done on our own rather then having to go through disinterested middle men.

I've now switched all 30 plus of my domains to DirectNic, many from Yahoo who were good a while back but are totally incompetant now - DirectNic's support is second to none - it has very friendly staff who actually know what they are talking about too.

Yes, price *is* a concern, but customer service overules price for me if there's not a great deal of difference. Only complaint I have is that the pop email servers sometimes play up.

I'm like Toolz.... Have 50+ domains over at domain name systems.

It is WAY worth it to me to know that Matt & the crew will fight to get my domains if someone decides to take them or that I shouldn't be able to control them.

I wouldn't trust ANYONE else - The money I would have lost had I lost domains at another registrar who decided to take my money, sell me domains that weren't saleable and lock my account would pay for any difference in price for years and years to come.

There's something to be said for having the owners of a registrar accessible, ethical, on the ball, willing to fight for clients and IN the same business we are.

I've never used DirectNic but I have used a few other registrars and I keep sticking with CWNIC, they can't be beat for service in my opinion.

I don't...I got used to Domain Name Systems; and Gord and I have never had any problems, so I use them.

BTW, I use Cyberwurx for a lot of hosting for much the same reasons.

As I said before Gord is a mickey mouse - he hosts the domains out of his house.

Conepuppy is top notch for hosting. Always has been. I can give him the thumbs up :okthumb:

Though for domains, I think he is just a reseller for tucows, and hence if the shit hits the fan there is only so much he can do.

Same here... Conepup's service just can't be beat - and that's really what counts when you get down to it.

However - all I *ever* hear is great things about DN too, so if there wasn't a Conepup, I'm sure I'd be there as well. It's nice that we have some good, solid choices available to us now instead of being held prisoner to the BS by you-know-who... sometimes change IS good.
