What about switiching of the stats for certain minujtes per hour or certain hours per day ?

:-))))))

I have had it confirmed by a friend that bavck in the day I was being shaved 70%.BUT I still made more money from him than the others.

I was taught to shave by the VERY best ;-)))))

Well why don't you just pull the whole fucking curtain back  :agrin:

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain

LOL

I was just saying everyone shaves.

If you don't think you are being shaved , the person receiving your traffic has just turned up the shave. :)

I would. :)

You want me to start listing the REALLY sneaky ways to shave? ;-))))

carrie,

Are you really naive enough to believe there are non shavers?

ahahahahahahahahahaha

I admit it, I do believe that there are non-shavers... they are rare, but they do exist.
I'm one of them! :) :)
(Okay before you jump on that, I mean with my affiliate program, not my personal hygiene!!)

ahahahahahahahahaha

and you get how many joins a day?

The high low is 2 / 4 ;-)))))
Well, it's not in triple digits (just double). We hope to fix that though once we get our butts moved over to Epoch.
Hell we're not even pushing for affiliates until we get over there, so we don't have to go through a bunch of people working with link code changes, etc.

And currently the affiliates we do have *do* get paid for alternate payments, like phone signups or checks.
We don't redirect any traffic
We don't do a Serge and switch stats off :)

Hell Nick I don't even know *how* to switch stats off for a certain time period, LOL (we're not using custom software at the moment) and we're getting valid signups from foreign traffic so there's no need to redirect.

Caveat: At this time there's no need to redirect *grin* We'll see how Epoch does processing foreign cards.

The truth as I know it
Serious as a hard-on, no bull, no ass kissiing

In 1998, 1999 and 2000 I was responsible for publishing/writing two adult email publications (both opt in- really opt in no harvested email addy lists) one was daily with a circulation of 450,000 the other was 3 times weekly with a circulation of 150,000

The 450K publication had up 10-20 ads per day so I needed a lot of sponsors (and a lot of sites to rotate) so I tried many affiliate programs

The best paying sponsor was Intergal and all the sites in the Intergal family
Xpics paid well also - yeah I said it
Brad Shaw was just starting out about that '97-'98 and Teen Goddess did well also
Serge's Cash sites paid well also, better than about 75%-65% of the other programs I was using
The checks were always on time, always for the amount they were supposed to be, never had a question or problem with Serge's Cash or getting paid

and those are the facts
I was there and did the work
and I remember

Carrie,
this isn't called "honesty" in the business we've chosen...it's called
LACK OF CREATIVITY....
have you ever thought of getting a new career as a nurse?

your honesty would be plausable and creativity is NOT required in that profession........

What mattered was where the biggest/best payment was coming from

and the worse shave I saw.... which lead to poor/low pay and never using the program unless I was stuck for something

Btw CCBill is now saying that all of the drama last night was just a "glitch"
So I was right then?

hehehehehehehehehehe

do you beleive them?

I bet it's a nothing but "damage control"....

of course....blind panic covering a fuck up.
and fuck up was:
they NEVER intended to make it feature PUBLIC....

BTW, knowing CCBill's history,
I CAN say:
they ARE creative
;-)))))

Carrie, learn from the best....and most of all,
learn to avoid FUCK UPs

jeeeezzzzzzzus!!!!! LOL

Sorry carrie , you are a nice woman. But you don't have a clue on this LOL

But you do always have an opinion ;-)))))

1.) I'll bet you don't see 100 joins per mth paid
2.) You don't redirect foriegn traffic.Let me give you an old hint.
How many webmasters check there linking codes from....say....aol.
3.) An ssi striping all webtv hits to a webtv designed site works well ;-)))

Any "hitter" expects to be shaved. (For he is not naive)

I told ya I was honest. :) (To a fault? LOL)

How long do I have to work up to that 100 joins per month?

And quit tempting me, dammit!! I wouldn't want to subconciously code in AOL shaving when I'm writing up the affiliate stuff... (or would I? hehe)

Guess I need to join the Nick's Secret Shaving 101 program :awinky:

Carrie,
this isn't called "honesty" in the business we've chosen...it's called
LACK OF CREATIVITY....
have you ever thought of getting a new career as a nurse?

your honesty would be plausable and creativity is NOT required in that profession........
I change enough shitty diapers during the day. No nursing!

Serge I've never claimed to be more than I am. I don't come on saying I'm a player or lying about my 900 joins a day. Hell I don't even post pics of cheap ass Camaros that I don't own and talk about my "bling bling" and my nonexistant Mensa membership, lol.
I'm the token newbie, we're just starting out - I've got no problems admitting that.

Maybe I won't be the next Fantasyman with my morals standing in the way. Maybe I could be convinced to be a little creative with the billing. Who knows?

I'm not against changing my way of thinking, and one day I might. I just would like to give it a good try first. No harm in trying, eh?

Nickatilynx 01-07-2004 02:45 PM

LOL

Posting on YNOT back in the day that XPics was gonna prepay me a wedge of cash led to phonecalls from Dean and FM and eventually made me millions LOL :-))))

sextoyking 01-07-2004 03:22 PM

Gosh just a yr or 2 ago you would see posts all the time from people wanting to pre pay for 50-100, 1000 joins or whatever.

I don't see those much anymore

Not really related to CCBill topic, however I saw the PPS vs Recurring posts, so I wanted to jump in with my 2 cents about it.

Recurring is probably more strong in nature, since the payout cashflow is controlled. PPS is more complex because they are paying for much more than just the single transactions - and this is why I think the PPS game will have to change or continue the downspiral... if you only have PPS and try to add all kind of extra revenue (consoles, redirects, e-mails, xsales, upsell, shaving etc.) into the PPS payout, then it will only get hard and hard to do the high payout, because:

1. Technology is working against consoles, installs and spams
2. Bankers will keep making risky transactions more risky
3. Less webmasters will control more traffic, and they will get smarter - both filtering traffic away, and spotting shaving will be easy for them.
4. Surfers get smarter, still surfering with their dick in their hand, but also knowing about low trial/high recurring price, and how too cancel. Plus they will have access to much more free content than today, so why stay a member?
5. Possible tax issue down the road...

If PPS and processors continue with the old model, then in 2 years time we will probably hear webmasters who are saying something like this:

"You know back in 2004, then I was converting 1/1500 and got $35 per signup - sure alot of them shaved, but I made Bling Bling!! However today in 2006 I´m converting 1/5000 and I´m paid $35 per signup, and now everyone is shaving like mad, and I will probably need to work at McD... damn I wish it was 2004 again"

Not saying that recurring is better, than PPS - recurring will have the same problems, however they will not have to payout $35 per $1-5 trial.

The sky is not falling - yes you can still wake up each morning and milk the PPS cow, however in time that cashcow will produce less and less milk - no matter how hard you try to squeeze the teats... evolution :o

Todd,

They are just not too vocal about it. We are business as usual. :D

every business model has to adapt with time - that's obvious...but it's absolute absurdity to hear sponsors scream "revshare is where the money is" when you look at their exit consoles...

it's a bunch of PT Barnum wannabe's living out "do what I say, not what I do" and most webmasters are cognitively vacant enough to buy it.

get your money - get it in hand so you can use it to make more money...and leave the "big boys" to deal with the FTC - visa - bankruptcy in the future...they aint gonna go broke for any affiliates...any affiliate with half a brain that actually works will afford them nothing more than that same level of respect.

I've always hated paysite revshare programs. It's just asking to be fucked in so many ways.

best of luck -

those in the know are already changing their pps methods and as usually seems to be the case the counter intuitive decision is going to be the one that results in better conversions, higher/maintained payouts and less risk.

i'll give you a few hints on what will happen

1 - no more recurring
2 - charging the surfer MORE

when the narrow minded people are no longer running paysites the professionals will begin making MORE money than they have in the past few years.
