Serge,
I am so sorry to hear about Zhora.
I had the pleasure of meeting him and he
was a great dog!

Peaches 08-04-2003 05:22 PM

I just realized I made the ultimate insult to poor Zhora and called a "he" a "she". Sorry, Serge and Zhora! :(

DaveAFX 08-04-2003 07:04 PM

RIP Zhora.

Sharpie 08-05-2003 12:26 PM

I never met Zhora, but the stories have been unique!

Dogs can be a 'girls best friend too..... http://www.puggie.net
She has filled my life with much pleasure.

My cat is 19 and arthritis aside is still going strong, and rules the house!

They sure leave a little empty space when they are gone.

:cryin:

I wake up on trips and wonder why there's no snorting dog(s) in the bed with me.....maybe I need to start picking up snorting men at shows.

Brad: Is that a Dachshund? Just curious as it looks like one and we have one as well. They say they are bad for backs ... does the dog jump up on the furniture, climb a lot of steps or anything?

they are great dogs..one of my childhood dogs, sadly recently died, was a dachshund and I would not hesitate to have another one. Ours (Farfell) did tend to want to jump up on the sofa a lot because she wan't to be close to us. They do like to munch on everything and anything though. We once had to take her to the vet because she found a pencil and chewed on it and it got stuck in her cheek. It was smelly and swollen before we figured it out. They also like to go through a digging motion as that is part of their natural function. She destroyed more than a few pillows by putting her paws on them and trying to dig.

We had one when I was born, gave it to my G-parents (he and I kept sharing food) and then my G-parents had 2 more through the years - all three named Blitz. Now MY parents have another one. My Dad drives around with her in the convertible with the top down, her ears just flying. :awinky: I told him he's turned into HIS father, hehehe.

They are VERY smart dogs, but their backs do give them trouble after a bit. :(

sarah_webinc 08-07-2003 10:19 AM

they are addictive dogs (much like Pugs I think..funny when we got her we were deciding between her and a pug). People tend to have another one after the first.

sarah_webinc 08-07-2003 10:20 AM

man, I miss dogs. I used to go to shows all the time with my mom. Got to the point where I could identify a breed in a split second but when I moved over here it was just unfair to have one in our flat. When we move we *are* getting one.
