Kinda like saying "those dirty jews" and then when a jew stands up you say "i didnt say you specifically" in any case. not here to piss. but if you're going to level accusations against people for paying a lot out on cheap trials you're going to have people tell you what they think about your statement. bottom line, we and others pay $40 per signup. It's expensive as fuck. It is a low margins high volume game. |
Hooper is right, it is all about the volume. If you can not do volume, you should practice "would you like fried with that" over and over.

There must be exit sales, cross sales, upsales, email collections (with mailings to those collected) selling collected emails plus all and any legal means to increase the bottom line |
Vick, of course there is alot more to it, but I am not here to give lessons. But without the volume, there will be no profits.
My consulting starts at $2500 an hour. |

Brad and Hooper are correct. It is a volume game.
Webmaster A spends $1000 a month and makes $5000 a month. Who wouldn't like to make 500% profit? Webmaster B spends $400k to make $600k a month. Only 150% profit. Must not be as smart as webmaster A right? Would you rather be webmaster A or B ? |

I don't personally care that it happens, I've already stated the reasons that it happens. Best thing that could happen is that the affiliate system as it stands now was done away with, regardless of the reason. |

I had no idea RB was gone....sheesh. I must get my head out of my ass, either that or give up fishing and that ain't going to happen. I am so out of the loop on where folks are these days. |

Do you make more money by turning in volume playa players? |

Great thread, really helps put somet things into perspective for someone like myself who is a programmer trying to help out the people who run websites and programs.
From what I have seen over the last couple of months, with the downturn on the industry, people have been forced to break the molds of the conventional paysite. Coming out with new ideas, bringing what looks like more honesty to the paysites to reduce charge backs and generate more revenue. As it has been in the past, webmasters are turning to people like me to create scripts and applications that reduce time and overhead that it takes to manage their sites. This in turn allows them to either reduce the number of employees working for them, or allows them to concentrate on other money making ideas while their sites practically run themselves. I submit galleries as well on the side to try and generate income, I have seen it become harder for the non-cheating submitter to get listed. Now it will cost more and more money just to get listed at TGP's with high traffic volume. I think you will see a mixture of people dropping out of the market because of the other associated costs for running websites. I definitely applaud those of you who still make the bank roll as I know it is tough. I am lucky that I am a programmer and that I make a living doing that instead of just running websites and such otherwise I might have to work full time again :) Andy |
is silvercash just down or are they out?

MikeAI, if we are threatened with hacks, please pledge everything extortionists wants and promise them "hooper-dollars" ;-))) |

I would hate to be in the position of Silvercash. Being hacked with a DOS attack like that must be amazingly difficult to fight and even more difficult to handle financially. Fight the good fight guys.
Perhaps LA Mike should just treat the hackers like Serge treats potential advertisers? Might just solve all his problems :yowsa: |
