I think my problem is I was getting spammed to my MAINSTREAM addresses.. addresses that aren't posted ANYWHERE on any of my adult sites.. That and umm.. email addresses that shouldn't even be anywhere REMOTELY involved in the adult business were spammed. What if my kid was online and got a lovely SWOIT spam in his email box? I would have been SUPREMELY pissed. There wasn't really any rhyme or reason to the way they spammed.. the least they could have done is check their lists. I don't know who Swoit is, nor do I particularly care, however I DO NOT APPRECIATE the amount of unsolicited spam to email addresses that have NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BUSINESS. Grr. THAT chaps my ass.

The long answer would be that you can promote the site to your cancelling members as an affiliate ... i say cancelling members because in your case your own paysites are probably the main revenue stream for you, swoit would be more of a bonus or addition to your existing business model ... so you don't want your members to cancel from your site when they see this.

I think its a good product for cancelling members (in the confirmation email, add an advertisement), decline pages, and anywhere that you can find surfers who have already been a member of a paysite ... i think these are the type of members that will recur the most, so if you are an affiliate as well as plugging in your members areas, you make money for minutes plus $15 recurring per month ...

but ... your suggestion brings up a new idea that will definately get some discussion ;-)

While you have their ear, can you ask them if they can package the same product as an upsell/cross sell. say $1.95 trial - $regular membership rate recurring 50/50 rev-share

If they use ccbill/ibill/epoch then they should try to package that as an offer.

The product idea looks good, but I'm trying to work out how much it would cost the average webmaster. Like the old days with ACGOLD, people would put a good site together & surfers would spend 30mins on that site instead of the normal 3 mintues, meaning that webmaster was spending a lot more on b/w then his competitor and getting no real benefit.

This has been a popular concern so far ... is the cost of the bandwidth going to be covered by the payouts ...

I'll bring stats for my own sites as soon as there's some data there to share ... hopefully it makes me money!
