DISASTER!!! |
I kind of believe things (especially the most seemingly random things) happen so we learn and grow.. like to help thicken the skin.
..and that anything above that is subject to (and possibly ruined by) interpretation. Things happen. We then take that event and turn it into whatever we want. Like a young kid gets hit by a bus, the kids parents are crushed, it's a horrible thing - but to the old man next door who hates kids in general - and this one specifically for breaking his window with a baseball, it's not such a bad thing, he may even be overjoyed by the accident. Same event, different meaning. Attitude and belief specific in my opinion. I think things mean whatever we want them to (at least to an extent) but at the same time that we have more impact on things than we think. Intent influences action, action influences results with a hunk of randomness thrown on so we can never fully figure things out... Leaving the point of our existence (whatever that may be) intact. I don't think anything happens consistantly enough for any rule or theory to apply as much as we'd like them to. -Dennis :bwave: |

I’m known for being extremely outspoken and brutally honest. I often think out loud tossing ideas and though around waiting for something to click. I really don’t care if someone reads my thoughts as long as they do what I’m thinking! lol :rokk: |
Do you believe that everything happens for a reason?
************************************************** ***** Things "Happen for a reason" mainly to keep one's sanity. More importantly....Do you believe in "Devine intervention"? |
"I've also been fairly lucky, for example i lost my gold bracelet on the plane and later found it at the check in counter someone turned it in. The other day i came out of the gym and found my phone in the middle of the parking lot, didnt even know i lost it."
Try this slavik. Throw a hundred dollar bill out your car window and see if it comes back to you. If it does you will know you are 'Even Steven' (loose Seinfeld reference - god I love that show) |

This is exactly it. (in my little world anyway) Every action affects you intellectually and spiritually as well as physically. Sooo, when you 'feel good' about doing something I believe it is the positive action coming back to you intellectually. (the emotion of 'feeling good' comes after your mind decides the action was a positive one) Let's face it, when we do something 'negative' per se, we know it. We go through it in our minds, feel crappy about it and either a: dwell or b: try to ignore it or go into denial mode (which is only surface and allows for more deeper scars). Either way we are affected by this negative action in a negative way. Hmmm, Divine Intervention? That depends on what you mean by 'Divine'. Do you mean a personified deity who feels you could use a boost in the situation? Or do you mean the 'cosmic force' that needs to balance out the negative and positive forces thereby 'intervening' in the current situation? Oh the joys of understanding our existance...hehe :gbounce: |

Things happen merely because they happen...
There is no why or wherefore... There is no grand plan..... We (Human beings type one each) are the same as everything else in the universe.... No more important, no less important..... The idea that when we die (or those close to us die) that that is it, the end, fini is scary as all hell for most of us. We seek some continuance out there in the cosmos.... But there really isnt any... When it's over, it'as over...end of story...do not pass go, do not collect $200.00. Religion wants us to believe in some kind of afterlife, some kind of reason for existing... This is merely religion's attempt to control (yes, religion's ultimate purpose is it's original purpose, to cotrol the masses, much as government's purpose is to control the masses)... Religion says to us taht life is brutal, but it is worth it because there is a reward waiting at the end if you persevere... But the truth is that there is no reward...it just ends.... Realization of this truth can be terrifying.... People can feel, "well, if it all leads to nothing, why continue, might as well end it now.." and some do...(the zen master points out to the pupil that many times a monk will reach satori during the act of suicide...) |

I'm just teasing....but ultimately you cannot claim your ideas are 'the truth' without proof....and no one has proof...at least not yet. |
but ultimately you cannot claim your ideas are 'the truth' without proof
************************************************** ****** Lack of "verifiable" proof of any of the various theories out there is the proof of my truth....(personal proofs do not count...I saw god once, noone else saw him, of course nobody else took any of the "brown" acid either ;p) I am, therefore I think I am........... |
